Pleasantly surprised! I needed to get somewhere near Tarbert and everything was booked up so chose the Grey Gull despite not having the best reviews. Don't be put off by them as this is a hidden gem. It's a beautiful old building with a bit of history and has a fantastic character and atmosphere. It may need a bit of work here and there, but it's rather modern inside. I loved my room at way at the top. It was quiet, clean and very comfortable. Despite being next to the road, the window was really sound proofed. Watching the moon rise and sunrise was amazing. I also had dinner there which was delicious and treated exceptionally well by the staff. Staff were helpful, friendly and welcoming.Definitely recommend.

Breakfastt was good and the B&B was well run by very cheery Pauline. It is very near the Crinan canal, good for walking, and easy to find,. The TV in the room was large and good and the shower excellent.

Recently stayed here for 2 nights on a work trip to the area. An amazing little glamping pod with everything you need, and some truly amazing views during the day and night.

There was nothing to like. The place was so bad we didn't stay. It looked busy by the car park but it turned out the owner collects cars and they were all his.

Andrew provided the best breakfast we had during our 3 weeks trip in Scotland. We felt very much at home and will very certainly try to re-stay at the moorings if we come back to Tarbert.

A pleasant stay in this B & B and Peter & Louise were very nice hosts. Very good value for money.
One of the biggest headaches when driving to your hotel is finding a convenient place to park, so these properties are on hand to take the pressure off. Options range from secure underground car parking, to safe spots within easy reach of the hotel itself.
Big old building (with no lift) right on the roadside looking up the Loch, really lovely spot. Had a family room with a view. Double bed was lovely, however the single is worn out and needs upgrading. Bathroom was good, despite water pressure issues. Plenty of parking. Food was really surprisingly good, especially the fish pizza and chicken cordon bleu.
The hotel let us park in their car park after we had checked out. The hotel is a lot better than the exterior suggests. Fabulous views over the Loch. Canal at the rear of the hotel with lovely walks or cycle, only 8 miles end to end.
Breakfast was minimal. Staff shortages meant long wait times. Coffee was terrible. Fruit minimal but ok. Glad to have parking and wifi. Jay made the stay much better with his personable nature.
I thought the location of the Hotel was fantastic with plenty of parking. The staff were very helpful and were always available to assist. The rooms were also very good.
Clean and comfortable rooms, sea view
Friendly and efficient staff. Suitable location for the job we were undertaking.
Great to have easy access car park on site.
Very nice cozy hotel in family-run chain. Very reasonably priced and value for money. Good restaurant and bar with charm and a view of the loch. Good choice of dinner options and good Scottish breakfast. Easy parking too.
The views. The food was very high quality although limited menu which did not worry us. The staff were polite and helpful, hard working and generally quick service. Loads of hot water. Car Parking. Location near canal. Size of room.Fluffy towels. Plenty of complimentary coffee. I would say the hotel and bistro could be misjudged by the outside appearance which was tired and not welcoming.
