The breakfast was great and the guests were encouraged to make full use of the place. the communal rooms were large and comfortable and there was a big TV off in another area to watch the Olympics.

A spotlessly clean, very well appointed room in a quiet rural setting, run by delightful hosts. We booked in for the Table dHote dinner which was extremely good, with a wide variety of excellent drinks included. We thoroughly enjoyed a very pleasant evening, chatting to our hosts. A real taste of the true France. A great breakfast, as well.

David is a very kind host who will makes it an ejoyable stay. He has good tips for restaurants an places to visit. He even helps out with the reservations. We received a free room upgrade because the bigger room was available which was very nice! Facilities, breakfast and room was very good.
A tip: join David with the aperitief at 7PM each evening to get the real French experience.

We loved the house!!!
It's located in the middle of nowhere, in a quiet neighbourhood, BUT it's a great stop if you want to visit Vichy (as we did) or its area (even Clermont Ferrand).
The house is spacious, not to say enormous in its size. Half of it is a private area (sleeping room, living room and bathroom), with a lot of windows but with heavy curtains in place, and half is a kitchen with a dining room looking out on the garden and the pool (there are no curtains, however, it still all "yours"). The kitchen is well equipped with quite a lot of stuff including coal for the the outside grill.
The swimming pool is undoubtedly the key asset of Chez Marmotte. Warm (in August) and clean! We were informed by the host earlier that it might not be available (due to some problems related to the pump and filter) but happily, the issues were resolved and we had a chance to use it!
The Internet was good enough for our needs.
You'll have a private parking space behind a private gate :).
The host/owner is very friendly and open. She doesn't speak much English, but we made it :) and had some short chats about kids :D and where are we heading next.
We loved our short stay and a trip to Vichy by bike using Via Allier.
