Lovely cottage with quiet surroundings. Mina and Thierry are great hosts, we were welcomed and shown the place. It is nicely decorated and you can see that much thought went into stocking and decorating it. We immediately felt like home and have really enjoyed our stay. Pool great to dip in after a morning exploring area and chateaux. King room with garden view. Breakfast very good with fresh breads. Happy we chose king size room as we stayed for 10 nights so it gave us more space and a wonderful garden view. Host very amenable and he offered us ham and cheese for breakfast as well as the usual spread.

Domaine du Val Sauvage is a pure retreat. The setting is stunning, with lots of wildlife within the grounds and woodlands and many herbs and plants to awaken your senses as you walk up to the room. We stayed at Pom'Poire in 2018 (just a stop-over) and ate at their restaurant, the food at which I would describe as up-scale, hearty, regional. In those days, dinner was served on a lovely terrace. On this visit we stayed for two nights. Since our last visit there has been a transformation: a Michelin star for the restaurant; a new restaurant added to the back of the auberge and some more rooms in separate cabins. The room (we actually ended up in the same room) is basic but very good, comfortable and not too expensive. The restaurant is very different now, offering a range of tasting menus but is truly excellent and worth booking for. Additionally, fortunately, there is still a donkey and some goats in the adjoining field (the goats are stand-offish but the donkey is very friendly). Further afield, Azay-le-Rideau is a beautiful little town and the villages along the Loire are quite charming.

Selma, our host, has created a magical accommodation high in the trees. The treehouse is well furnished, comfortable and with an outside terrace where one can commune with the birds and trees. And, listen to the lovely tone of the hourly chimed church bell.

The place is magnificent. We had wonderful time there and it was a pleasure to spend time with the wonderful Laurence, who provided useful information about the region. The atmosphere is amaizing. The quality of the service too.
One of the biggest headaches when driving to your hotel is finding a convenient place to park, so these properties are on hand to take the pressure off. Options range from secure underground car parking, to safe spots within easy reach of the hotel itself.
