The room we were given was very comfortable with outstanding views. A small misunderstanding over the booking was amiably managed by the owner Patrick. Breakfast was also excellent. Overall a very peaceful and relaxing location.

The hosts are generous and welcoming. The accommodation has been restored beautifully and is very comfortable. There are walks to go on in the locale around farmland and neighbouring forest. It is a stunning property: a beautiful chateau in a lovely setting, in a picturesque village 5km from Aubusson - itself a fascinating history town celebrated for it’s weaving and particularly tapestries. The chateau has been beautifully renovated but absolutely retains its historical characteristics and charm. It is furnished will interesting furniture of earlier eras, including some exquisite tapestries. The hosts are charming. The breakfast was excellent. Our 4th floor bedroom was equipped with an excellent shower and Earl Grey tea-making facilities, which we appreciated. There is a chapel, a cinema and an indoor swimming pool, which we didn’t have time to use, but looked good. The grounds of the chateau are lovely.
