It was excellent - we were spending a day in Illiers Combray to visit some sites, especially the Marcel Proust museum, and it was so close to the train station I did not believe it - but it was still on a lovely residential street. The host who checked us in was friendly and amusing, and the restaurant for dinner and breakfast was good - not fancy but very tasty and fresh.

Not many pubs or restaurants in the town but excellent Café serving beer in the town square a very short walk from apartment. Small restaurant next to pub.
