Ô Bord de Loire is hands down THE best bed and breakfast I've ever stayed in. Carole is an exceptional host, extremely warm and welcoming, and committed to ensuring you have a wonderful, memorable stay.
Our room was comfortable, beautifully designed and furnished, with a view from the bed across the river Loire. The house was in a tiny hamlet at the end of the road so really peaceful and quiet.
There's an extensive garden with various places to sit/lie and relax with a book and listen to the bird song. Just bliss! And each evening we'd go for a walk around the hamlet and the fields, taking photos of the sunset across the Loire and people boating up and down the river.
Breakfast is healthy and fresh, with homemade scones, jams, fresh coffee, homemade pancakes, and fresh croissants and bread from the local baker. If you prefer a savoury breakfast, Carole will provide that too - bacon and eggs or cheese and ham. If she asks if you want dinner, say YES! She's an amazing cook and we had something different each night, always delicious, always healthy, always fresh and seasonal. On our second night, she picked rhubarb (see photo) from her garden and made a pie.
Ô Bord de Loire is perfectly located to explore the local environs such as the island of Béhuard and the village of Savennières. Sadly, we didn't get to see as much as we wanted to as we only had a short time there but we will be back. And we will definitely stay at Ô Bord de Loire again.

This was a little gem! The room was just right for our family with little touches of luxury in the jacuzzi bath. The hostess was lovely and chatty. We were the only ones there after a wedding so it felt like really personal service.

It was an opportunity to experience a unique story of a chateau which was steeped in the history of aeroplane invention and lovingly restored from near ruin by a family who very nearly committed to making it French TV’s own ‘Escape to the Chateau’. It is quirky and perhaps not the finished article, but much appreciated by us and it seems the other guests. To like? The grounds and ease of parking. Small number of guests, care and attention of staff, fabulous location at the confluence of Loire and Maine.

Lovely bedroom. Very nice bathroom. Good breakfast selection, with cereals, yoghurt, fruit and bread. The weather was wet so we didn't use the swimming pool. Nice location in the country convenient for driving to Angers.
