He is also a trained chef, which I didn't know at the time I reserved dinner online..To say it was a pleasant surprise is an understatement :-). Breakfast was wonderful too. We wanted a place to stay half way between Paris and Toulouse, and St Benoit en Sault fit the bill. The owners are renovating an old house in the medieval village and the renovation of our room was completed in July. So everything was new - lovely bathroom, comfortable bed, stylish decor. The outside of the building looks run-down, but don't be deceived: the inside is lovely. Breakfast was in a dining room and had nice touches - proper napkins, nice china. The breakfast was fine - apple juice, coffee, bread roll, croissant, butter, jam, bread pudding (!), fruit. The place is quiet, and the village is worth visiting.

Philippe and Kathy were wonderful hosts. Philippe took care of our reservations for dinner just around the corner at Popa Will immediately upon our arrival. They invited us for apple juice cocktails in their garden. Our rooms were tastefully restored and decorated to the 18th century. The bathrooms were roomy and clean. They were accommodated our requests for early breakfasts. The village of St Benoit was stunningly beautiful, especially at dusk.
