Rodrigo (if i remembered it right) is almost 80 years of age. He is not the fastest anymore, but makes great company. Together with his wife they cook home cooked meals for a very decent price. The rooms are very clean.
The dinner and breakfast are moments to remember. Rodrigo can be verry sarcastic and has a great sense of humor. On the other hand his wife is very relaxed and is not bothered by the orders she gets from rodrigo. Everything together makes this a stay to remember.

I couldn't imagine how bad it was!!! The rooms are located on the 2nd and 3rd floors and the toilet is on the 1st. The bed is wet. There is no air conditioning. For breakfast, cook your own eggs. Staff - a bot in the messenger issues an access code. There are insects in the room. There is a normal hotel 25 km away and it costs less and is incomparably better.
The archaeological site of Atapuerca is about 30 minutes' drive from this rural hotel in Vivar del Cid. This is also the starting point of the Camino del Cid hiking trail. Free WiFi is provided.

One of the biggest headaches when driving to your hotel is finding a convenient place to park, so these properties are on hand to take the pressure off. Options range from secure underground car parking, to safe spots within easy reach of the hotel itself.
The location was easy to reach by car. The parking is safe. The room was specious and looked like 1980s. Everything was fully functional. Perfect for one night on a trip from Portugal to Sweden.
This is a truck stop and provided great value accomodation and food. No frills, but all you need - warm room, comfortable bed, plenty of hot water. No English spoken - only Spanish and French. No real menu choices - you eat what the truck drivers eat and it's substantial home made and great value. And you get plenty of red wine straight from the fridge. Room very quiet and no noise from all the trucks. Parking secure. Amazing value for money and would stay again.
