We absolutely loved our stay at Watzmann. The window mountain views and location were breathtaking. Berchtesgaden was our favourite town we have ever been to. We were welcomed to the apartment with open arms, shown where everything was, and were given advice on local visits we wanted to do. We knew she would have been right there for us should we have needed anything. The apartment was extremely clean and we wished we could have stayed for longer.

Location, Room, Service… everything was Perfect. Actually, I’m speechless how was good to stay there. Wake up in the morning and see the mountains and the cows with the Bavarian bells, unforgettable. This beautiful family-owned B&B ("Pension") is located on a scenic plateau above the town of Bischofswiesen near Berchtesgaden (a 15-minute drive away) and a little off the beaten path. You definitely need a car to get there via some one-lane dirt roads (which are very safe, though). They also have new electric vehicle charging stations in case you drive an EV. The owners are super-friendly, very engaging, and incredibly responsive. From what I could tell, they speak English rather well, so if you don't know German, you should be fine. What we enjoyed most about the place is how quiet it was - at times, all we heard were the wind and some cowbells. If you have children, there is a small playground; and because it's at the end of the road, parents seem to feel comfortable letting their kids run free. We were also amazed at the quality of the WiFi: we had excellent reception with 200+ mbps! The breakfast was plentiful and tasty. Since my husband is gluten-intolerant, we ended up bringing GF bread we bought at the store and which were able to keep in a common fridge next to the breakfast room. Please keep in mind that only breakfast is served and that most rooms - unless you book an apartment - don't have a kitchenette, so you'll have to drive 5-10 minutes or so to find a place for dinner. (We went to Brenner-Bräu several times; it's nearby, and the food is tasty.)
