We stayed at the hotel for 7 nights in mid-June as it was conveniently located for our planned hikes - about a 25-minute walk to the Sargans train station and a nearby stop for a bus direct to the station if we didn't care for the walk. The rooms were quite large and very clean. But it was the exceptional hospitality of the staff that really recommends staying here. It will definitely be our first choice the next time we're staying in Heidiland.
Accessible only by cable car and enjoying a mountain location and a 28-minute drive from the centre of Flums and offering impressive mountain views, Berghotel Schonhalden has a terrace.

It is a very cute cottage, with everything you need. We didn't have a chance to use the garden, but it looked very nice.

The castle room had nice charm to it. And the location was great. Very convenient for the surrounding areas. Easy parking, nice set in nature. Comfy big bed. Good bath. Staff was helpful and courteous.

Very dull and without atmosphere. Expected much more since the name is all about Heidi and that was the purpose of the visit. The area of the hotel is almost part of an industrial site and not very nice. The view on the mountains from the breakfast-room was better.

The roominess of the single bed, the solid wood surround a d floors, and the fact there was fan in the room to assist with cooling air, as it was quite warm in the upper floor.
