The owner Kobayashi san and the staff are all very friendly and helpful, everything is well maintained and clean, the common room is very chill and has great view of the beautiful garden. The use of onsen is by reservation so no need to worry that you'll have to share with other guests, which is good for solo traveler. The bed and duvet are comfortable in the dorm room, had a good sleep. Too bad I only get to stay for one night and didn't get the chance to try their meal neither. The only little downside is location, need to walk uphill a bit from bus stop 宮城野橋, but shouldn't be a problem. (They also offer free shuttle from guesthouse to Gora station in the morning). Overall I had a good stay, highly recommend!

Well situated in the Chuo Ward district, this hotel offers a restaurant, as well as a sauna and a hot spring bath. The property is non-smoking and is located 400 metres from Nihon Tenji Seitei no Chi. We all loved our stay at the Dormy Inn. The onsen was a huge hit with the women in our group, it was realaxing well maintained and equiped with all your personal needs. My husband used the men’s onsen and he said it was extremely quiet and relaxing. We all loved the complimentary drinks and ice cream after 3, the yakult in the morning was also good. We had the free ramen each night at 9:30pm, we all felt this could have been a little earlier maybe 9pm. The free washing machine was also great, there are three in the men’s onsen and 2 in the women’s. I never had an issue getting a washing machine at night. The dryer was 100yen per 30min. The roof top area was great for sitting with friends while having a few drinks and a chat, there is a vending machine there also. The rooms we stayed in were only 15sqm but they are setup really well and seemed bigger. The hotel is in a great location for trains or waking to areas such as the imperial palace and fish markets just to name a few. Don’t let the construction next door put you off it didn’t affect us at all during our stay.

Secluded area that felt resort-like. The staff had reasonable command of English and were always helpful regardless. They provided umbrellas for walking around the property and on excursions and there was complimentary drinks - including alcoholic beverages - at reception. The toiletries were nice and you could grab extra items easily at the front desk. The included dinner and breakfast were really delicious and a wonderful experience. The private onsen was a nice introduction to the Japanese hot spring experience.
The ryokan was very clean and well maintained. The staff were friendly and made sure that we were comfortable. They went out of their way to learn about us and teach us some cultural lessons. Oh and if you book the private onsen room, it is soooo nice!
The private onsen in our room was amazing. Soaking in the hot spring water overlooking the zen garden was lovely.
The owners are very friendly, go above & beyond to make your stay comfortable. He dropped us at the restaurant nearby and willing to pick us up if the restaurant couldn't drop us back to the accommodation. The room is very clean and spacious with tatami floor. She prepared the futon for us. The private Onsen was a plus. You can experience the real Japanese ryokan here. It should be easy to find if you get off at Kamisokokura Bus Stop and walk 3 mins to TSUKINOYA.
We had a great time staying here! Our two-person room was very clean and comfortable, and staying in a traditional-style ryokan was a fun experience. Plus there was a natural hot spring onsen downstairs for bathing. The owner was very kind and gave us lots of advice about our itinerary in Hakone despite us not knowing any Japanese.
Wonderful stay in a charming ryokan. Food was delicious (I would highly recommend taking half-pension) and service was exceptional. I found the onsen very relaxing, it is a very warm outdoor bath with cloudy volcanic water that opens on a beautiful bamboo garden. There's also an indoor bath. They offer private onsens but the public one was empty when I got there. Room was very comfortable and they provide everything you need
lovely traditional rooms with tatami beds and private onsen, overlooking the tranquil river which provides the hot spring water. the kaiseki dinner and breakfast was a delightful spread, though don't expect to be blown away by every dish.
Lovely ryokan, with authentic rooms and onsen. Very friendly staff, hot springs were such a good experience and totally worth it. Breakfast and dinner was delicious. Due to heavy rain on our check-out day, no buses were driving. The staff handled the situation very well and organized transport to the next station.
The room was lovely. The meals were good. The hot spring was great! We booked a room with a private Onsen. It was heavenly.
