We were so overwhelmed by the wonderful classic Japanese breakfast and dinners.A dream fulfilled! The staff so kind and generous with their help at the hotel and the use of the onsens, the room, and the surrounding area. We were picked up by a wonderful man on their staff at the train station and we even received help to go to the snow Monkey National Park!

Boasting accommodation with a patio, Madarao Farm is set in Nakano. The holiday home, set in a building dating from 19th century, provides free WiFi.

The holiday home is fitted with 3 bedrooms, a flat-screen TV with satellite channels and a fully equipped kitchen that provides guests with a microwave, a toaster, a washing machine, a fridge and a stovetop.

The whole house is amazing and has everything you need. It's set up for a really comfortable experience. We especially loved the BBQ experience. Everything works and is in great condition. The hosts are really conversant and happy to help with recommendations and extra information about the place. As there were no bookings the next day, we were given the option of checking out at our leisure, which was nice.

Yasuragi Inn’s Japanese-style rooms have tatami (woven-straw) floors, futon beds and a flat-screen TV. Each room is air-conditioned. A fridge, an electric kettle and yukata robes are provided. All guests have access to the on-site hot spring public baths, and they can be reserved for private use. (please inquire at the front desk for more information.)

The hosts were really kind and helpful in every respect picking up or dropping off at the station. The breakfast and evening meal were delicious examples of traditional Japanese food. The two onsens were the best we have used in Japan especially after a really cold day outside on the mountain. The beds were really comfy and cosy even in cold weather. Loved all the other little touches.

We loved staying at this Ryokan, Located Close by to a station and a couple minute walk to a lawsons and some bars and restaurants. The place overall was very tidy and our hosts went out of their way to communicate with us and make sure our stay was as comfortable as possible. They even offered us a lift to the snow monkey park(We didn’t end up going but the gesture was lovely) They have free snow gear to borrow if you are going up the mountain which was a bonus. The Onsens, though smaller were quite nice. I would definitely stay here again:)

A 5-minute walk from Yudanaka Train Station, Tawaraya offers Japanese-style accommodations with free Wi-Fi and a flat-screen TV. Guests can relax in the indoor and outdoor hot-spring baths and wear colorful Japanese Yukata robes. Massages can be requested for an extra cost.

The service as this Ryokan was 10/10, and was the most authentic one we stayed in during our 4 weeks in Japan. The staff were so lovely, and spoke great English. They showed us to our room, and gave us essentially a "room tour" whilst we drank complimentary tea. They gave us a map with nearby restaurants and ammenties noted on it. The private outdoor onsen was SO nice! You book a slot upon arrival, which you can access in the evening with 30 min slots. The onsen was large and the perfect contrast with the fresh cool air in the evening. Yukatas were provided for us as an option to wear around the hotel - both my partner and I are bigger than the average Japanese person (Wife is plus size, I am 6ft 2) and we both comfortably fit into the ones picked out for us. The only thing that threw us was that during breakfast, they cleared the beds from our room - had we known people would go in, we'd probably have neatened the room a bit haha! P.S don't skip the sushi restaurant a few doors down from the hotel. The sushi was EXQUISITE and they even have a phonetic Japanese to English page at the front so you can have a go at ordering properly with the chef.

Looking for a property with onsen?

Featuring traditional Japanese hot springs known as ‘onsen’, these hotels allow you to take a relaxing soak in therapeutic geothermal waters.
