    Wanted to break the journey at Franz Josef but this was the only motel available at time of booking. However we each had one bedroom apartments and they were roomy. The motel was dated but everything was clean and tidy and quiet.

    The position of the motel was close to the cable car station and a short walking distance to the town centre. There was plenty of parking spaces too. I really appreciated the washing facilities.

    The room was spotlessly clean with a very comfortable bed. There was a spacious shower in the ensuite and the small kitchenette was well equipped. We were able to park right outside the door to our room which proved most useful as it was lashing rain when we arrived! The motel was right in the centre of the village with a very good restaurant next door.

    My wife and I were very happy with our stay at 58 OnCron… (what a weird name). It was a bit ”classier” than our usual kiwi motel booking – we tend to go for the basic offerings, but we were late booking in Franz Josef, so we ended up at 58 OnCron. We ate dinner at a restaurant so didn’t have an opportunity to evaluate the kitchen aspects. We didn’t watch any TV, so can’t comment on that either. Internet was fine. And overall, the place seemed to be very well presented, comfortable, pleasant. Nothing to complain about at all.

    Location was great the motel located just around the corner from city centre which isn't that big. you can walk like 2-minutes to city centre. It's a motel, so you park in front of your room and that easy for move luggage in and out from your car to room. Room was nice but no air conditioning. We're visiting on Christmas Day (Summer in newzealand). So we use a fan which also provided in the room. But it gets colder in the night and next morning.

    Lovely location! Very clean and very friendly/helpful staff. The motel itself is a little on the dated side, however, it was impeccably clean, safe, had everything that we needed and was good value for money.

    While the motel itself was clean and comfortable, I found the town itself very lacking and very pricey. I wouldnt visit the area again. The main attaction is the mountains, especially because of the snow on them .
