The relatively smaller size of this accommodation type can also help to make check-in quick and easy.
It really did have that mid-century American roadside motel feel, just outside of Copenhagen. Rustic, clean, small rooms with very nice beds and a TV that kind of dominates the room.
We had a fantastic stay at Wittrup Motel. It is a Motel and not a 5 star hotel, but the atmosphere, the room at the authentic American motel feeling made it a fantastic experience. We did not know what to expect, but the stay exceeded our expectations. We have already booked a second stay. For what it is, we will recommend it any day.
Unique place not far from Copenhagen, and with easy access from the main roads between Sweden/Norway, and ferries going to Germany. American motel standard (supposedly). They have a bar restaurant, which appeared to be popular with the locals. You can park right outside the door of your room for the most part, which was a large plus.
I really liked the staff. Both check in an the restaurant staff were suuuuuper friendly. I felt very welcome at the motel. The food at Sallie‘s was very good as well. I had the burger, my sister had the fish & chips, and we had the homemade lemonade. Absolutely amazing. Breakfast, too. On the weekend we even got pancakes.
Rooms were tidy and as advertised, the vibe of a motel is perfectly captured. The location and parking are fantastic! The diner tops it all with great service, legitimately good food and drinks.
Sorry that the reception closed at 10.00 while my flight was late due to the strikes in France. Had to spend the first night with friends. Have to find another motel next time.
Location was good for my business trip, and free parking in front of the room (American style motel) is great, in a city like CPH where parking it’s usually very expensive. Good restaurant, but remember to book a table, it’s always crowded and fully booked.
