Very minimalist, modern style room that includes everything you need. As this is a motel style facility, there are no extra amenities like gym, pool, or ice machine, so keep that in mind. There is a refrigerator and coffee machine, which is all we need. The owner put a lot of time and effort into making the room very pleasant, clean, and comfortable. The room included a small plastic table and 2 small chairs. The views from the private balcony were beautiful, and you can walk right down to the water.
The Marmalade Motel is a memorable location for views & comfort…with ease of access to harbor, beach and hiking activities. Historical landmarks abound. We loved the natural beauty of local coves and inlets along with pine covered forests.
Prior to our arrival, the communication was pleasant and helpful. We did not encounter any staff while staying, but I heard someone delivering breakfast to the guests next door, and they sounded friendly and lovely. The room was clean. Water temps and pressure in the shower were good. For a traditional motel concept (a place to stop and sleep at a reasonable rate while journeying elsewhere), it did the job with the benefit of a water view.
Fabulous location - what a view. Nice touches, like chocolates, wine glasses, cute decorations. Easy to use app to gain entry (download before arrival as no signal once you are there!). Good WiFi. Good coffee. Cannot comment on staff as there were none needed!

In such a quiet town we found the nicest, modern motel ever!!!
Had to drive to find 14 mins to eat but that was nothing, the place is a credit to the owners.
Very cute modern motel. Clean and comfortable beds. Beautiful view, balcony and lawn area with ax throwing. Coffee in room was good. Small fridge. Bathrobe if you want. Totally chic.
After a long day driving, we pulled up to the motel and the exterior was modern and up to date, very inviting. Upon entering the room, it was spacious, with modern facilities, warm colour tones, and a gorgeous view of the water. We were wishing that we were staying for more than one night. We will be back when we are in the area.
The Marmalade Motel is a pleasant, chic boutique motel. We ordered the very fresh and tasty Charcuterie Box which was waiting for us when we arrives and the "Breakfast in Bed" Box which was delivered in the morning with fresh coffee, yogurt, fresh berries, and wonderful muffins and biscuits. Delicious,
It is a beautiful location even on a gray day. The rooms were nicely decorated ands a comfortable. The location was a great stop on our way from Cape Breton to Halifax.
Very nicely furnished and cosy room with warm colours.
We had a little issue witz the lock but as the motel keeper lives next to the motel help was provided within minutes ! Thanks !
