We were travelling by road to Canberra and return, so this was simply an overnight stop both ways. We weren't expecting the Ritz, but we were expecting a clean room and a comfortable Queen size bed. What we got was the clean room, very comfortable Queen size bed, and a great night's sleep ready for the drive the next morning. The facilities were tiny, but functional, the bathroom & toilet were combined and also very functional. We were both surprised at the water pressure in the shower, it was fantastic. The lady at Reception was the only staff member we saw, and she was very friendly, courteous and professional.
Located in the Hay town centre, Cobb Inlander Motel is a 4-minute walk from cafés, shops and banks. It offers rooms with free WiFi. It also features a saltwater outdoor pool and BBQ facilities.

Spacious room- comfy and clean bed - towels were better than average and smelt nice! Soaps better quality than average. Friendly staff.
Both travellers on the road and on a budget rely on motels for convenient stops with reasonable rates. Direct access to parking makes a motel an easy place to catch some sleep after a day of driving. The relatively smaller size of this accommodation type can also help to make check-in quick and easy.
The room was VERY clean, the bed was comfortable, the staff were friendly and welcoming, and the food was great!
For the price, we weren't expecting great things but they delivered waaay beyond what we ever expected. We 100% recommend the New Crown Hotel Motel!
Bed was very comfortable. The breakfast brought to our room was first class. We would definitiely recommend - and stay there again in the future.
Being allocated a room at the back of the Motel meant it was extremely quiet and restful. We liked the vines and other plant in front of all the rooms.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Highway Inn Motel, friendly staff and the room was spacious and clean. It was a great location, close to the cafes and eateries.
What you see is what you get. I wasn't expecting much so everything that was not expected came in as a bonus....the simple breakfast, free parking and their location (exactly halfway between Sydney to Adelaide).
The hospitality at Comfort Inn Bishops Lodge Hay was amazing; nothing was any trouble. They were very welcoming on arrival and checked in to see if we were comfortable and needed anything else. They provided everything you needed and what you would expect from a quality regional hotel/motel stay. Even though the restaurant was not available, they had many quality recommendations locally.
We had travelled from Adelaide—a long drive—so we were very grateful for the welcome and organized check-in!
Basic but comfortable and quiet accommodation in Hay, pretty much midpoint between Adelaide and Sydney so ideal for breaking the journey. Importantly for us on this trip, motel is "pet friendly". No dining options at the Motel, but there is a pub, club and pizza shop in town - but be careful as the pizza shop is closed on Tuesdays which does make the pub a little busy. Motel does provide a simple buffet breakfast which is available early if you are keen to get back on the road.
24 hour check-in is very helpful. We arrived at 3am
Exactly what you expect from a roadside motel.
Nothing fancy, but it's enough for a nights stay while on the road.
