Motel Stawell, hotel in Halls Gap

A magnificent stay on National Highway 8 between Melbourne to Adelaide.

Cleanliness and comfort were fine. A big plus was the two seater couch as many motels these days do not provide armchairs and it is necessary to sit on the bed to watch TV.

Loved the fire pit and the location of the motel. Beautiful area with great walks and waterfalls a short drive away. Staff were super helpful in providing information for activities and businesses in the area.

The motel is on the main street, just a few properties away from the oval where the kangaroos congregate. If you lucky, (as I was), you will see roos and kookaburras outside your door. The staff are excellent. extremely knowledgeable of the area and happy to provide advice for walks and "must see" places to visit. The room is clean, comfortable and has almost everything one would need for a stay at The Grampians. Highly recommend staying here.

The view was stunning of the Grampians. Buddy the kangaroo came right up to our motel room door for a pat - he was beautiful. The food at the views restaurant was delicious. The only downfalls of the family room was that there was only enough hot water for 1 person, not nearly enough and that the wifi was hit and miss, mostly miss. Staff were really lovely though.

I liked the position of the motel. The rooms were a good size, and the kangaroos in the garden were a treat. A lovely quiet location with lovely views of the majestic Grampians.
