The Feathers Hotel, Ledbury, Herefordshire 4 stars

Ledbury

Originally built in 1564, The Feathers Hotel, Ledbury, Herefordshire still maintains much of its original Tudor architecture today, nestled in the historic market town of Ledbury.

With rustic wooden-beamed frameworks, the stylish, individually designed rooms at The Feathers Hotel, Ledbury, Herefordshire each feature a flat-screen TV, an en suite bathroom, complimentary toiletries and a hairdryer. Absolutely first class accommodation, great staff, great location, the blend of modern facilities and the old originalities of the building are just about perfect, a very large property that is well presented and well maintained, I can definitely reccomend it to anyone that is visiting the area.

Norton House Bed & Breakfast & Cottages 4 stars

Whitchurch

With oak beams and flagstone floors, this 16th-century bed and breakfast features traditional, spacious rooms with antique wooden beds. Guests arriving by 18:00 can enjoy home-made cakes and tea on arrival. Old building with lots of character and appeal. Craig and Lynne are just brilliant hosts who couldn't do enough for us. Both are so helpful and very knowledgeable about the local area. Excellent location, lovely breakfasts and really comfortable bed. Contrary to reports about the noise from the nearby A40, no problem sleeping when shutters and curtains closed. Would definately recommend this B&B.

Somerville House 5 stars

Hereford

This Victorian villa, dating from 1895, rests in a peaceful, tree lined residential area of Hereford city.

Tucked away to the south west of Birmingham, nestled between the Welsh border to the west and Worcestershire on the east, Herefordshire is a county with a rich and diverse heritage. Steeped in tradition, here you will find picturesque villages set within rolling, green hills. Sheila and Steve, owners of Somerville House, were tremendously hospitable hosts - nothing was too much bother, even fetching us plates for our takeout dinner one night. The B&B is a short walk from Hereford train station and not far from the town centre, so it's easy to get around even without a vehicle. The stellar (included) breakfast is served to order, hot and made with local produce. The accommodation was spacious, comfortable, with beautiful views of the town and cathedral, and spotlessly clean. A fantastic value for your stay in Hereford - even the minifridge, stocked with local treats and drinks, was remarkably reasonably priced!
