My wife and I recently had the pleasure of staying at Plawsworth Hall Serviced Cottages and Apartments, and I was absolutely blown away by the experience. The property is located in the idyllic village of Plawsworth, just a short drive from Durham City. The setting is absolutely stunning, with rolling hills and lush green countryside all around. The cottages and apartments themselves are beautifully appointed and spacious. Our two-bedroom apartment had everything we could possibly need, including a fully equipped kitchen, comfortable living room, and two bedrooms. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and we slept like babies. The owner of the property, was incredibly friendly and helpful. He was on site to greet us on arrival and gave us a tour of the property. He also made sure that we had everything we needed during our stay. We spent our days exploring the beautiful countryside around Plawsworth. We visited Durham Cathedral, Hadrian's Wall, and the Beamish Museum. We also enjoyed some great food at the local restaurants. We would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable vacation. Here are some additional details about our stay: The rooms were very clean and well-maintained. Beautiful decorated and clean room on ground floor was perfect for us. Excellent shower and comfy nights sleep, thank you. Breakfast was also tasty and good quality, we had the full English.

What a stay! I can’t believe my luck stumbling upon this little gem of a shepherd’s hut. It is absolutely stunning, set in its own private garden with an amazing log fired hot tub and fire pit for melting marshmallows. We came away for my fiancée’s birthday and wanted somewhere close to the Grassholme Observatory as that’s where I had booked for a stargazing activity. It couldn’t have been better located, and the views from the garden and hot tub itself were just as fabulous as at the observatory. The hosts, Sarah and Scott, were fantastic and on hand to help whenever we needed them. They have thought of everything, and even added bespoke touches for our stay, including a birthday banner and balloons. The welcome basket was a really lovely surprise and we enjoyed everything that had been put in there. The hut itself was kitted out with all sorts to make our stay comfortable. The bed was comfy and had extra blankets (and a step for those who might be shorter than we are to get up!) The kitchen had all the utensils and pans you’d need to cook up a breakfast or simple dinner, and even had oil, condiments and tea & sugar. There was washing up liquid and cleaning supplies, too. In the bathroom, there were cosy towels, a powerful shower, a hair dryer and shampoo, conditioner and soap. Entertainment wise, the hut had a radio/speaker which connects to the record player (ideal for my vinyl loving partner), a smart tv and some playing cards as well as the hot tub. We’ve had the most amazing time and will definitely be back.

Everything was very clean, modern and comfortable with everything we needed for a 4 night stay. We were impressed that the smallest things had been thought of such as providing dishwasher tablets and a range of different teas etc.

Beautiful spacious well equipped property in great location Really interesting building, large comfortable bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, comfortable lounge with wood burner Hot tub under the stars! Really cold week in January - the Granary was warm and welcoming Close to village, and short drive to Durham Enjoyed visiting the alpacas and walks from the property Thank you - hope to visit again

We loved everything about our stay at this beautiful cottage, we even got amazing sunny weather for a mid-Jan stay which made it even more special for my mum’s 60th birthday celebrations. The location is amazing too, just outside of Durham with amazing woodland walks all around the cottage. We will definitely be returning to enjoy this beautiful cottage again, the hosts were exceptional too, the lovely Peter greeted us with a bottle of Prosecco on arrival and came to service the hot tub every day.
