Set in tranquil surroundings with large landscaped grounds and a picturesque garden terrace with mountain views, Tongariro Crossing Lodge offers uniquely spacious rooms with historic character. A garden is featured. The staff provided exceptional guidance so that we could take stunning views of the mountains during sunset. Very high quality breakfast. Overall, exceeded my expectations in this rather remote/resource limited (to a city person at least) location.

Unbeknown to the host our Whanau live directly across the road so to find this gem was perfect will definitely come back

Bernie and Marie were absolutely delightful hosts and we enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. The property is conveniently located near to the various activities in the area, which made travelling to and from a breeze! Breakfast was also amazing, and with sheep and alpaca at the property as well, I can’t recommend this stay more!

Plateau Lodge is located 15 minutes’ drive from UNESCO World Heritage listed Tongariro National Park, where guests can enjoy skiing, hiking, cycling and paddling activities. A daily, shuttle service is available hourly from 6:00 until 9:00 to the Tongariro Crossing & National park. Free parking is available. Great room, friendly staff, everything is within walking distance.
Bulls
Located in Bulls in the Manawatu region and Palmerston North Convention Centre reachable within 31 km, Lancewood Lodge provides accommodation with free WiFi, BBQ facilities, a garden and free private parking. We especially liked the sitting room area with the tv and that we could stream Netflix. It was really warm inside and felt like our own home for the night. We liked how we were allowed to use the kitchen facilities and the multiple bathrooms. Rooms were nice and clean with comfy beds and nice mink-like blankets.

Genuine lodge feeling, great location
I like how the stuff assess us to our room and how she tour us to every corner of the lodge. The room we're clean as well as the toilet, washroom, kitchen, dining and we really loved the entertainment area which gave us things to do like playing billiards.
Close to Turoa ski field and ski hire shop. Loved the room - felt like a ski lodge. Enjoyed sitting on the balcony for a drink. Great to have a mini bar (paid). Bed super comfortable. Room was very warm and we didn’t need to put the heat pump on. Heating cupboard for wet clothes in the bathroom. Bathroom is a little dated but great shower and big bath. Shared Laundry on the floor. Enjoyed the breakfast, the lively atmosphere in the restaurant/pub and the friendly staff.
Friendly staff, homey ski lodge/cabin feel, hot tub was great after the alpine crossing.
Staff-Joy is such a happy person and goes above and beyond. She's always running around doing something. Facilities-You can really see that they are trying to spruce up the place and turn it into such a lovely place to stay. A lot of care and attention to detail is shown even as far as decorations to make it feel more homely compared to some lodges and backpackers I've stayed at. Kitchen-Kitchen is well stocked with items to use for cooking. Bed-It was comfy for me
love the old ski lodge vibe enjoyed the food at the restaurant very handy being able to stay and eat at the same place rooms had great bathrooms which had just been modernised and included a bath in our double room
