Wasi Compostela 5 stars

Santiago de Compostela

Santiago de Compostela Cathedral is 4.2 km from the lodge, while Point view is 6.6 km from the property. The nearest airport is Santiago de Compostela, 18 km from Wasi Compostela, and the property offers a paid airport shuttle service. If I could rate this higher than 10 I would. After hiking the Camino, arriving in Santiago de Compostela to find a car show and mayhem, walking the short distance to this property was the best decision. It is a beautiful home, absolutely magical yard, unbelievably comfortable, and breakfast was an indescribable feast. The host and her husband are serving up a slice of heaven here. If you are lucky enough to to stay with them, you will be happy you did.

Guests at the lodge can enjoy a continental breakfast. This is an exceptional vacation spot!! The hosts were accommodating in every way. They couldn’t help enough! We found the spot while on the Camino and are so glad we took the little detour. We were picked up and dropped off at our choice of location. The unit, done in an aviation theme, exceeded our expectations, with a stunning view out over the lake. The double jacuzzi was a treat, and we were happy that it was so quiet. The breakfast should not be missed! It was fresh, delicious and the delivery presentation was brilliant!! Thank you Juan and Patricia! We’ll be back!

CASA Eiró

Lobios

The lodge provides guests with a terrace, mountain views, a seating area, cable flat-screen TV, a fully equipped kitchen with a fridge and an oven, and a private bathroom with shower and free toiletries. A microwave, a stovetop and toaster are also provided, as well as a coffee machine. A cute, querky little house, in a tiny village in the mountains, with three foot thick solid, stone walls, in a National Park. What more could one possibly ask for? Except of course: friendly and efficient hosts and cleanliness - both of which were supplied as well, in abundance! The owners arrived within minutes of me phoning and were assiduous in showing me everything. I loved this little house with its strange semi spiral staircase where the bottom step was huge but the top once miniscule. It has lovely, quite large windows, given the style and age of the property, which means you wake up to the sounds of birdsong and insects and views over the roofs of the old houses up into to the mountains. Very rural. The kitchen has all you need and the sitting area is very pleasant. The outside area is very spartan with only a table and four chairs on the concrete, but I suppose it is perfectly adequate. The internet worked perfectly, even outside at the table on the patio. Lots of things to do nearby - on the top of my list were the Roman ruins and hot water springs at Bano a few kilometres up the road towards Ourense. I liked the two pools (partly now submerged by the dam) next to each other - one fed with hot water from the earth the other with cold water from a man made stream from the mountains. And there are the remains of a Roman fort within easy walking distance. Those Romans knew how to build! If you visit the hot springs near the little house, be careful - they are very hot (50C) - I was told by a German who had burned his feet paddling in them. One thing: if you are using Booking.com, be careful of following their maps. I came from Portugal and the map showed me the upper route to the village before you cross the stream/river. It is almost impossibly narrow and I was sure I was going to bash my hire car, but managed just to get through. There is a much better route where you turn off at Vilamea a couple of kilometeres further along the road.

Cabanas da Ría

Lires

With mountain views, Cabanas da Ría is situated in Lires and has a restaurant, a shared lounge, bar, garden, terrace and children's playground. Both WiFi and private parking are accessible at the lodge free of charge. For a Pilgrim, it's a piece of paradise; for families, opportunity for quality time! It's a beautiful place, with a unique energy! The accommodations are decorated with wonderful details and lots of love; excellent amenities. We tasted different dishes; the food is delicious!! And the kindness of the owners is incredible. A few meters away, and forming part of this complex, there is a swimming pool. For those who prefer the sea, just walk around the Ria, populated by herons, seagulls and ducks, until you reach the beautiful beach of Lires. On clear nights, the possibility of observing an incredible sky... The Path of the Stars. It stayed in the heart. A true country poem, sprinkled with sea air. We will be back with the family!
