Shepherds Tree Game Reserve, hotel in Pilanesberg

Shepherds Tree Game Reserve is a lodge concession, located on the south western portion of the Pilanesberg Game Reserve and 18 km away from Sun City.

From the second you arrive to the time you leave here, the time spent will be amazing and memorable. The staff are all so friendly and efficient. The setting is absolutely spectacular with the Pilanesberg visible from every angle. The food is outstanding and being able to select from the three course menu for lunch and dinner was beyond a delightful treat. With every meal being separately prepared, it is a gastronomic journey of delight. The game drives were excellent and on our last morning, we saw lions! What a great way to round off an amazing few days. The room was great and the outdoor shower sublime while the bed was like a little piece of sleep heaven. Highly recommend staying here!

Lush Private Game Lodge, hotel in Pilanesberg

Featuring mountain views, Lush Private Game Lodge in Pilanesberg features accommodation, a fitness centre, a shared lounge, a terrace, a restaurant and a bar.

Wow, I've been trying to write this review for a few days now because I can't fully express just how extraordinary Lush Private Lodges is and how much we enjoyed our stay. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by the friendly team and shown to the most stunning room ever. The bed is so spacious you'll definitely lose each other in the night! The room was immaculately clean, and every time we stepped out, the housekeepers were there tidying up. They even left us charming little notes and cups of tea each night. The food was fantastic; we thoroughly enjoyed both breakfasts and lunches. One evening, we celebrated my partner’s birthday with a private dinner on our balcony, complete with a birthday cake as requested prior to arrival. Compliments to the chef and thanks to everyone who made the evening unforgettable. A huge thank you to Avi, our incredible guide. Avi was exceptionally knowledgeable about both wildlife and plants. We were fortunate enough to see the Big 5 and so many other animals. Avi even had us spitting impala poo, making toothbrushes from plants, and chewing on numbing leaves. The hot water bottles and ponchos were lifesavers on those chilly mornings. The snacks and gins were beautifully presented, and we felt truly special throughout the trip. We can't wait to return to Lush; we've already booked to stay again for 2025!

Tambuti Lodge, hotel in Pilanesberg

Tambuti Lodge is set in the northwestern side of Pilanesberg National Park. It offers spacious and luxurious accommodation surrounded by the trees of the old Tambuti forest.

Tambuti is the best accommodation experience I think I've ever had. Better than any 4* or 5* hotel that I've stayed at, so truly exceptional. The warmth of the welcome, the attention to detail, the thoughtfulness and care - all were just wonderful. Plus we had tremendous food and drink, a beautiful building and location, and a marvellous guided safari experience. Very intimate (just 5 suites) and outstanding in every respect.

Love the bush views from the stoep bed and tub. Food is as excellent as ever. Staff cannot be more than accommodating. Being partially disabled the extra length the staff went to accommodate my needs was exceptional. All in all will be back for my fourth stay at either ivory or shepherds lodges. Once again. Thank you for my short breaks unforgettable 🐾🙏

The experience at the hotel was amazing. They asked us in advance what we would like to eat and if we had any dietary restrictions! The hotel's breakfast is incredible with many options. I would like to mention our safari experience at the Game Lodge; we had two guides, Sibu and Helen, both very knowledgeable and skilled. They showed special attention to my pregnant wife.

An overall great experience with extremely friendly staff. Nice food mostly served at the table which added to the exclusive experience of the place. Really well equipped cabins with outdoor showers. My son very impressed with the wifi even if our cabin was located quite far away from the main building. Last but not least mostly great safari drives. We managed to get on five fine drives in total during our stay. Didn't get to see all of the big five though. But still an amazing experience for us being first time on a safari lodge.

I am very happy that I linked a businesstrip to Johannesburg with a weekend stay at the game lodge. Very nice and comfortable acommodation. Good facilities and great safaris. Going out before 5 in the morning seeing the wildlife was just amazing. The afternoon drives was also very nice. Very good meals at the lodge with a view to a waterhole.

The lodge is great and the food on offer was really good with good variety of choice for all meals. The room was big and really comfortable and in warmer months the balcony and the outdoor shower would have been firm favourites. The game drives were a bonus as when I booked I hadn't actually expected them to be included as have stayed in other lodges here where they were an optional extra. The guides were great and even as frequent safari taker they had facts and information about the animals that were new to me which was really good.

fantastic location of the property next to the pond with hippos and other animals come to drink water there. Safari view right from your breakfast table. electric fence is all around so nothing to be scared in terms of safety. Nice lodges rooms in the authentic style, with big windows, decor is good.
