We were looking for a quiet break in the country. It could not have been better. The setting at the foot of the Swartberg mountains is breathtaking. As there is a constant stream of water from the nearby mountains, the dams are full. There is abundant game on the property some of which can be observed from the Lodge. The rooms are luxurious and very comfortable. The atmosphere is quiet and relaxing, the perfect place to chill and unwind. The meals were most appetising and enjoyable.

We’ve come back for the second time, as this might be the best Safari Lodge in the region!
Beautiful accommodation, great safaris and animal activities.
We loved everything about the accomodation. We been wished welcome by the many animals on the game lodge. The people are realy nice, espacially the host Charlene, she was the perfect host for us. From a special tour on the area till a flat tire, she's the one!
We meet Millie the giraffe and some baby ostrices.
Super overnight stop over in really comfy rooms - the beds were great. The setting is beautiful with lovely views and walks. Could happily have stayed for a few days.
Carina booked us all ( 7 of us) in for dinner at Buffelsdrif game lodge, which was absolutely stunning. Thank you for a great stay.
Our two days are Klein Karoo Game Lodge were absolutely fantastic. The service was excellent. We loved the location and the free-roaming animals. The spacious and modern mountain-view rooms were a pleasant surprise. The highlight for our family was the animals!
Beautifully quiet and peaceful location with springbok and meerkats regularly coming by to say hello! Despite the very rural location, some way down a gravel track from the owners house, it felt very secure.
We ate at Bella Cibo, which was excellent and at Nostalgia which had excellent service and lovely South African dishes. Both were extremely busy and reservations are definitely advisable.
We also loved eating dinner and breakfast at Buffelsdrift Game Lodge, overlooking the water hole, where we saw both hippo and giraffe!
It was very exciting staying at a safari lodge. Animals roamed freely and we could drive/ walk amongst the animals. The restaurant serves lovely food and pool was great to sit by to enjoy drinks.
A mountain retreat which feels like 5 star treatment. The owners looked after us personally and made sure we did not want for anything.we viewed the wild animal feeding from the terrace with drinks whilst warmed by the log fire. Dinner and breakfast was delicious again with great service . The rooms were a short stroll away under a clear starlit sky which was awesome The room was like your personal safari lodge with a super mountain view and sightings of the wildlife including a giraffe.
The lodge is nicely located, close to Oudtshoorn but it still feels like in the middle of nature.
The staff members were very kind and helpful. We stayed in a charming bungalow next to a little pond, it was a different kind of lodging experience which was nice.
We enjoyed the food at the restaurant and breakfast was good, too.
It‘s nice to go for a walk around the hotel to see the different animals.
Breakfast was superb, array of choice from bacon and eggs to fresh pastry’s and yogurt with fruit and cold meats and cheese.
Staff were welcoming and friendly - special mention to Xavier who stood out!
The lodge itself was superb! Can’t beat waking up in nature with the birds singing and hippos communicating! View from our tent was tops
and special mention to Juan our guide on the bush safari - what a great experience and Tiaan our guide on the Meerkat experience. We really felt treated and relaxed 😎 didn’t want to leave!
