Truly one of the best experiences I have had in Africa. Sam is outstanding as a manager and a host. She is well supported by Keenan her husband. What makes this lodge stand out is the personal experience they afford the guest. Sam and Keenan are always on site. It is clear they love the lodge and run it as if it were their own. I felt so much at home here, I didn’t want to leave. The food was amazing and so were the rest of the staff. Kyle who did all of my game drives was awesome. Not only does he have amazing luck, he is patient, and is happy to sit with animals for as long as we want to. Having been to Africa many times in the past I have seen the big five before. But the experience at Sungulwana far exceeded anywhere else. I will certainly be coming back again and again.

The lodge had absolutely every little thing you could need including a bank of cables and USB points for charging devices. The kitchen was very well equipped and laid out. The scenery was beautiful, with an abundance of Birdlife. We had nyala and giraffe visit the lodge, plus a little bushbaby!! An utterly amazing experience and wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone! The host was excellent at communicating and we had the best stay!

Very nice stay! The team is great, they booked us a tour at Hluhluwe Park and we did a night walk inside the reserve, wonderful experience! You can walk around to see some animals as zebras or giraffes, so beautiful. The place is really peaceful. And all the staff very helpful, thank you!

This small resort is a pearl. Perfect situated to visit the Hluhluwe game park (30 min ride). The chalets are nestled in a well maintained "jungle", all chalets have their own privacy. We had the luck, that we were nearly the only guests (it was off season) - only one more chalet was occumpied - super silent. In this large fenced area deers are walking around and you see them direct in front of the patio during dinner or you meet them on the way to your chalet. Dinner (three course) and breakfast is very rich and good and the ladies tried to fulfill every wish. Special thanks to them for their perfect service! We felt very welcome.

after driving 5 min through dense forest we arrived at the reception, checked in and then went to the viewing deck which was overlooking a wide open field. The view was overwhelming.. deers, blue wildebeest, Zebras and three gIraffes were grazing in the wide expanse not more than 50m from us. The same 3 giraffes 'blocked' out path when driving the few meters to our bungalow. What an experience! The staff were super helpful. The AC wasn't properly cooking, a repair company was just on the premises and they gave them the order to right away also refill the gas on our AC unit.
