Ideal for nature-lovers looking for a self-sufficient getaway, lodges are fully furnished and self-catered. Usually made of wood and surrounded by forests or mountains, lodges can be part of a group or a single unit. More remote than holiday homes, lodges are popular for safari trips.
Econo Lodge staff worked tirelessly to accommodate us despite Booking.com's failure to communicate our reservations. Booking.com sent us confirmation, but reportedly did not inform the hotel. Thankfully, the front desk staff worked and worked to make our stay possible. We were grateful, as we had been on the road for hours and needed a restful night's sleep.
We don’t typically stay at Econo Lodge’s but a lot of hotels were already sold out when we looked for a place to stay for the Kentucky Derby. It was an Econo Lodge, not high end but I want to thank the owners for everything they did to make it a pleasant stay - from the Derby glasses and snacks to breakfast, taking our pics in the parking lot - you were wonderful and we greatly appreciate it!
Being an older property, it seemed to be well maintained and kept clean. There was however an issue with the payment. The issue is with Booking and not the Econo Lodge, they were happy to refund the original payment back to me. There was a double payment made for this reservation. I am still dealing with Booking to get my refund.
I liked the staff. I liked that my room was clean also. Being near the airport was nice, but the area was "sketchy" with homeless and questionable people lingering around the premise. Additionally, there was a gentleman outside screaming and banging on one of the windows of a nearby room, which was uncomfortable. He banged and screamed and then broke glass, which sounded like a window. Staff was alerted and assumably, someone responded. It is a very uncomfortable area in which to lodge.

How does it work?
1
It starts with a booking
It starts with a booking
The only way to leave a review is to first make a booking. That's how we know our reviews come from real guests who have stayed at the property.
2
Followed by a trip
Followed by a trip
When guests stay at the property they check out how quiet the room is, how friendly the staff are and more.
3
And finally, a review
And finally, a review
After their trip, guests tell us about their stay. We check for naughty words and verify the authenticity of all guest reviews before adding them to our site.
