Wasai Lodge completely exceeded our expectations on every level. The staff were so kind and friendly, the rooms were fabulous right on the river with very comfortable beds. Food was amazing with a huge amount of variety. Our guide, Efrain, was so knowledgeable, engaging, funny and made our trip even more fantastic - he was born to be an Amazon tour guide!! Clem who runs the lodge was so friendly and helpful throughout our stay and was always on hand to answer questions. We felt very safe during our stay. This is an amazing lodge and would highly recommend it!

This place is outstanding! Highly, highly recommend! The lodge and rooms are clean and comfortable (if you are going in winter, bring warm clothes). The food is buffet style and very good, and is culturally relevant! My daughter (17) chooses not to eat a lot of food, and she was always able to find something - rice, chicken, plain rolls). Your group is assigned a guide, who is present when you are picked up at the airport, on all excursions and accompanies you to the airport when you leave. That makes for an in-depth experience on your excursions as the guide knows your group’s interests, and the information about the jungle previously shared with you. Just this alone is worth the cost. We loved the Macaw clay lick experience. Seeing the brightly colored birds in a flock - incredible. The night walk we did twice, and saw a tarantula as big as my hand, all kinds of spiders, a poisonous centipede, scorpion. There are different kinds of monkeys all around the lodge and on the excursions. In our last day, an eagle (an apex predator) was in the neighborhood, and all the monkeys came down from the trees to be safe. So cool.

The place exceeded our expectations! In the middle of the jungle, surrounded by nature, great pool to chill out in the heat, wonderful host, we were concerned by the distance from the city at the beginning but you can eat lunch and dinner in the place, and do not need to go to the city. For extra money of course but very good food.

We spent three nights at this wonderful lodge and had the most amazing time. We had a fabulous room with a large veranda overlooking the river. The room was very large and airy with a very big comfy bed. Beautifully furnished in a traditional style. We were full board so had breakfast ( buffet style)with lunch snd dinner. These meals were incredible. Wonderful locally sourced ingredients catering for vegetarians and GF. Meals were always three courses and after a full day’s sightseeing, much appreciated. The staff were caring, accommodating and very proud of their business ( as they should be). It was great to chill at the bar with a Pisco sour or a cold beer chatting with fellow guests. A big shout out to our wonderful guide Ivan who took us on all the inclusive trips . Can I suggest a visit to the local animal sanctuary where the staff work tirelessly taking care of injured animals etc. We felt very humbled after visiting . This experience was truly amazing, great value and we made some great friends along the way . Do not hesitate to book.

I enjoyed the ambiance, location and the facilities. The staff and guides were exceptional in every way and I enjoyed getting to know a few people who work at the lodge. The meals were lage portions, I normally could not finish the dishes provided.

We loved everything! Lodge and rooms, hosts, food, tour guide, transport were all brilliant! A fantastic once-in-a-lifetime trip that was well organized and good value for money. So cool to see the good they're doing at the rescue center too! You can really feel the love for the Amazon here.

The lodge is more beautiful than the pictures make out. There is a great atmosphere. We visited with three children (two of which are teenagers). We went for the most basic programme which means you have a guide with you almost all the time - we did an evening walk, a canopy walk, a visit to the rescue centre and a cayman search. Our kids enjoyed the place very much.

Our guide, Johan, was amazing and he did everything to show us the beauty of Tambopata. We saw plenty of wildlife, you won't be disappointed if you decide to go here. But do not take the rare animals for granted. In terms of facilities, the lodge's common areas are great, including the bar and the hammock area. Food was great as well, with plenty of vegetarian, fresh options. Our room was tiny and less comfortable than in Refugio Amazonas. But again, come for the wildlife and the beauty of the Amazonas, not for the room.
