We loved Elfen House as it is a quiet property with two en suite bathrooms and an enclosed private courtyard with a plunge pool which was perfect for the two hot days we were there.
Lovely small town. Friendly people. Nice little restaurant's & coffee places.
Came over from Oudtshoorn over the most beautiful Swartberg Pass. Narrow gravel roads. Drive slowly. Beautiful rock formations and river flowing closer to Prins Albert side. Went to Gay's Guernsey Dairy for cheese tasting & bought a few cheeses. Had lunch at Prins Albert Swartberg Hotel Deli. Will return one day. Passing through Meiringspoort on way out was an amazing experience.

Prince Albert is a beautiful quaint little town that makes you slow down and just appreciate your surroundings. Slow life, no rush! Everyone greets! Lots of history that has you in awe because you are also contributing to the of the locals keeping their town going when you buy at the market, shops, restaurants and museum. It feels like "Home".

We only had one full day in Prince Albert, and took our hostess's advice to visit the fig farm about 25km out of the town ( figs were in season ).
Driving through the desolate Karoo is a wonderful experience, and a visit to the farm is highly recommended.
There are plenty of restaurants in the town - we ate at one ( The Rude Chef ) - service was excellent and our fish and salad done to perfection.
We were surprised not to see high walls or fences around the properties and don't recall even seeing burglar bars on any of the doors and windows - apparently there is very little crime in the area.

A small, charming, picturesque town with abundant sunshine, although rather hot in the summer months, situated at the foot of the impressive and very scenic Swartberg Pass. A number of quaint old buildings, a reasonable selection of restaurants, a fine hotel and a good number of excellent guest houses, a surprising range of local produce, such as wine, cheese, olive oil and lamb, and a brilliantly clear night sky, ideal for star-gazing.

Prince Albert is a small village in the Karoo!
Prince Albert is a small village in the Karoo! It has amazing galleries, shops and stunning restaurants. The town thrives on tourism.
If you are a cycling enthusiast - a great place to do some good training, especially hill climbing up the Swartberg pass !!
Winter is also a GREAT time to visit - indoor fireplaces in most establishments and a relaxed vibe.
Inga and Albert are attentive and friendly hosts. Albert showed us around when we arrived and also recommended a hiking trail and restaurants. They have a lovely property and we would certainly choose to stay there again! (of the 3 Prince Albert establishments we stayed in during April and June of 2022, this one is our first choice for future stays if we book for bed and breakfast and not self catering).
Inga prepared a delicious breakfast - refer to their photos for the breakfasts and view.
Lovely and squeaky clean property, walking distance from sights, art galleries and shops, saturday market.
Very well equipped kitchen for self self catering. Provided wood and fire starters for one BBQ. In your private courtyard if you choose Olive cottage.
The renovated cottages in old style is just magnificent.
Good wifi. Erika van Zyl is extremely friendlyand attentive. She is an artist....her gallery is a must see!!
It’s a haven of peace, everything is perfect! Prince Albert is the place that reminds me of my childhood. What a joy to have been so well received, I recommend this establishment as the best in the city and as a hotel professional on the Côte d'Azur I know what I am saying. Don't change anything, thank you very much to the staff for the impeccable service. All that’s missing is a pétanque court and some pastis! Amazing.
The location is BEAUTIFUL. Prince Albert is such a special town and this property is such a gorgeous piece of it. If you haven't been to Prince Albert, you have to go! Johann is such an amazing host and the dam and pool are SO WONDERFUL. The views are really spectacular from the property. We were a group of 8 and we had the best 4 night stay. We didn't even do all there is to do in Prince Albert. Highly recommend. :-)
Prince Albert is definitely a town to be visited. The accommodation is situated close to the center of the town. We parked the car on the premises and walked to all the restaurants and amenities. Our room has a front door on the road for easy access. The room and bathroom were clean. The patrons were extremely friendly and helpful. Thank you, John and Esme, we really enjoyed our visit and would love to see you again.
Don't look any further. The Olive Thrush Cottage is fantastic! It is spectacularly clean, well thought out, cosy and charming. From the heater and electric blankets in the bedroom, to firewood and milk and rusks, all comforts have been thought about. I liked the secured parking. The town is cute and there is a Spar just a short distance from the cottage. We had a lovely dinner at the hotel in front of the fire.
Everything was great. We loved the breakfast room !! The only surprising thing was that it would have been nice if the owner had mentioned in an email that a new, wonderful restaurant had just opened in Prince Albert. We would have asked then to make reservations on our behalf. Unfortunately we were too late on the day we arrived and ended up in a very mediocre bar/restaurant. Garden looks lovely.
It was so good to be able to buy meat and then braai it when we arrived - allowed us to make the most of the glorious skies. The location was wonderful - far enough out of town to have peace and quiet and beautiful skies, but close enough to be able to access Prince Albert easily.
Relaxing stay in beautiful guest farm in the Karoo not so far away from Prince Albert. Very quite and peaceful with a clear view of all the night sky and stars. Guesthouse very cozy and firewood provided for fireplace on a cool evening.
Ta Mala's is a fully equipped historical cottage in Prince Albert. Whether you're here for a weekend or are planning on spending some time in the Karoo town and need to work, this is definitely the place to stay.
Prince Albert is a beautiful and safe town. The location of The Sanctuary is in the main road within walking distance of tourist attractions. Our room was clean and well equipped. The breakfast was great.
Great location and large comfortable and well equipped suite .Excellent friendly and helpful hosts .Prince Albert is a quaint historic and special Karoo town right at the base of the scenic Swartberg pass ⛰️
Everything excellent, the accommodation is exceptional and Lynne-Marie made us feel very welcome. Location is perfect and Prince Albert really impressed us. We will be back soon!
Centrally located on Church Street in Prince Albert. Stylish rooms & cottages, discreetly separated within the pretty garden. The owner/manager Johan is friendly & responsive.
Old fashioned country hotel which is very well maintained with outstanding service and dining. One of the classic places to visit if you are in the vicinity of Prince Albert.
It was in a lovely quiet spot in the garden of the bigger house. In the town so ideal for walking everywhere. A great area to explore the town of Prince Albert
