Beautiful farm,loads to do and see! From the start we knew exactly what to expect because the owner phoned to make us feel super welcome. We booked two cottages as a family get-away. The hot tubs were managed by staff so that we can just jump in when when it was warm. House keeping was available daily. We could also play tennis,go fishing, canoeing, play boules and explore the farm. We didn't do a wine tasting,but that can be arranged. We loved the indoor fire place in the cold winter nights.

For travellers expecting a South African plain old dorp hotel, they will be delighted to find a very different place awaits. The Montagu Country Hotel is charming, situated in a main street, and is well maintained where the intention is clearly to upgrade further with some discreet make overs in progress. Great attention is given to its interior theme of Art Deco, with surprises at every turn, and the hotel embraces its age with character, grace and style. The staff make every effort to please. They were very efficient and friendly throughout. The dining room is surrounded by glass overlooking beautiful gardens at the back of the main hotel, and is a very comfortable and special spot to dine with roaring fire nearby and the cold outside. The food at dinner was excellent.

Im a avid angler and this place met up to my expectations, 3 night stay over 30 carp best one 10ks+,should put more enthesis on angling. Can be a bit of a childrens playground but you can get away from that. Mid week in school time perfect.

It was amazing. ... loved the electric blanket. It was very quiet. Taps need a proper mixer though. Its next to impossible to get a balance of warm water. It either too hot or cold. It would be nice if pet owners picked their pets poo as kids want to play too in the grass without touching poo.
