Welcoming hosts who provided clear instructions and warmed up the house before we arrived. Such a thoughtful gesture especially since it was very cold and rainy when we arrived.. Perfectly situated, close to amenities yet peaceful, highlighted by a beautiful view of the river. We enjoyed the undercover braai area during the rain. Spotless throughout with helper provided. Fast Wi-Fi, smart TV, fully equipped kitchen. We especially loved the Nespresso machine, and thoughtful extras like coffee and water in room upstairs. Comfortable bed and spacious rooms.
Great value for a short stay.

We just love Port Alfred, it is Quiet and not overcrowded / Pick n Pay Centre very nice - very friendly locals / Of course Guido's wonderful pizza / beautiful golf course / 28km of river to cruise up / the Rosehill Mall not too big, actually small but sufficient with a huge Spar. Car wash while you shop. Overall is Port Alfred just the perfect place to stay - right in the centre between East London and Port ELizabeth - 150km each way.

Port Alfred is a wonderful small town on the coast with many beaches and the river that one can boat on for quite some distance. In the area there are many other attractions such as museums, the giant pineapple, game reserves and other small towns that are worth a visit.

We stopped here for a night on our trip along the garden route. We were pleasantly surprised at this little coastal town and how beautiful it is. We ate at a restaurant called Tash's and the staff were so friendly. Being accustomed to Johannesburg pricing, we were also blown away by how affordable everything is in Port Alfred. I would think that during peak months, it could get quite busy, but early September seemed to be a good time to visit this cozy time.
My wife and I booked the Villa at the property, which was large and very well equipped. The villa had a lounge and dining area, as well as a second bedroom. The bathroom had a bath as well as a large separate shower area. The view from your private balcony was lovely, and you could see the ocean in the distance. Safe property in a quite suburb of Port Alfred. The breakfast was well prepared and adequate. Burnette was a lovely host and most welcoming. Highly recommend this property.
The location of the hotel was convenient as it is right at the town center. The rooms were very clean and the moment you stepped into the room you were welcomed by a pleasant eucalyptus scent. The breakfast was delicious and we always looked forward to it. The service people were also warm and friendly and quickly responded to any queries.A great stay overall that I would gladly redo when I’m back in Port Alfred.
I recently booked 2 apartments for a friend and myself which were lovely, neat finishing, clean, a comfy bed and everything we needed in the apartment. The location is lovely looking out over the Marina with access to the swimming pool and pvt bar / BBQ area if we wanted. The host was lovely with excellent communication from start to finish. We will definitely stay again if we are in Port Alfred.
Great spot nearby the beach and some restaurants. The apartment was cosy and had everything you would need to make your stay comfortable. The living area was great for chilling out and the seating area outside would be an ideal spot if you wanted to have a braai. Highly recommend. Marlene was excellent with communicating and her son met us to show us the place and give us the keys.
Did not eat breakfast. The room was comfortable but not well maintained no fridge. I doubt i would stay at the Halyards hotel again. it is cheaper and the rooms are more guess friendly at B&B. There was a group of guess that were noisy both in the late evening and early in the morning. i also got charge more when i checked in than i was originally quote.
The tranquil & relaxed setting was absolutely refreshing & the ocean views from our suite were stunning. Kudos to the chefs for the amazing food and all the friendly and accommodating staff for being quite helpful. We enjoyed every bit of the game drive & lunch on the beach which was the highlight of our stay.
The Hostess calls you to confirm the booking and just make sure what time they should be expecting you. Lovely lady that hosted us so well who made us feel at home. It is also very close to the beach and the breakfast superseded our expectations. Definitely booking again!!! :) :)
Very friendly owners. Breakfast tasty and served to our room. Great views over Port Alfred harbour and beach. Had a covered patio with a light which was lovely in the evenings.
