I booked a family room for 4, and was given an executive which did not meet my requirement because apparently family rooms were fully booked after I made a booking in July for September. They try to sort it out but not communicate with me I will pay breakfast for extras which I did not understand why while l booked a family room for 4 and given an executive for 2. Worse I was communicating with them on chat, months before visit but nobody told me I'm allocated exec instead of family because I was gonna ask way and able to correct my booking.

The room was fine. Our biggest issue was that we were so looking forward to a good country breakfast and it was a complete disaster. The fried eggs looked as if a steam roller had squashed them and were burnt, the pork sausage was raw and the potatoes were hard and not cooked.
Then asked for a soft boiled egg.....2 eggs were delivered in a silver gravy boat as no egg cups available. Egg was hard boiled.
For a 5 star rating this was a very poor show and totally unacceptable.

There is a nightclub next door and its super noisy, it sounded like they have a speaker in my room playing Kwaito and yelling over a microphone the whole night so don't go there if you are planning on sleeping at all. Also don't expect any signal and in my case any wifi. Limited DSTV channels. I ordered breakfast the day before for 7:30, when I got there they haven't even started with it so I skipped breakfast all together.
Staff are friendly and the rooms are neat but the location is horrible.

Where the hotel is situated, it is perfect for those who are looking to be away from the City Busy Life. It for those who are looking to have a more intimate and quiet getaway. If you are looking to have a more relaxed, quiet and romantic getaway then the place is for you. What I loved about the hotel itself is that you didn’t need to go to town to have a meal or a drink, it caters for everything. I would recommend if you book Hotel Marang, rather travel during the day as the place is isolated. I would not advice travelling late, as it looked a bit unsafe on the way there…

Overall our stay was very good. Rooms are very comfortable and staff are very welcome and friendly. However not to be rated a 5 star hotel. Too many things not working or offered , lacking attention to detail. For a 4start hotel is GREAT but not for a 5star hotel
Truly had a "Royal" experience at Royal Marang Hotel. The continental breakfast was superb, and facilities superb. The spa experience was also awesome. The hotel has alot of lounging space which makes it great for meetings or chill time with family. Would definitely come back!!!!
The hotel presents itself very well. The staff welcomed us very nicely and the room and garden where to enjoy breakfast were of high quality. The bed was comfortable and the room was spacious.
Also a spa and a pool are available on the premises.
The location is fabulous they need to keep maintaining it
