Topkapi Palace
The home of Ottoman sultans for hundreds of years, Topkapi Palace is part of Istanbul’s UNESCO World Heritage Site. Dating back to 1459, this sprawling royal residence once covered a huge stretch of the shore – and even had its own hospital, mint and mosques within the walls. Now a museum, it displays some of the most important artefacts of the Muslim world.

There are so many architectural, cultural and historical wonders to see, that you should arrive first thing in the morning because it will take you all day. Carry something to eat and drink in your backpack.

visit the jewellery section first. its a must visit.
visit the jewellery section first. its a must visit. followed by the section for old religious relics. the kitchen , while falls first when you visit the palace, falls first from entrance could be visited at the end, even the section of fire arms could be 2nd last in terms of priorities. or else the Jewels and the religious relics part, which is more important will fall at the end and if you are tired, have kids or have impatient fellow travellers, will not get as much time as you would have liked to give it.

Great first stop to orient you to Ottaman history and culture. Pay extra to go to the Harem, but you don't need an audio guide as there are signs everywhere. Very beautiful gardens too. Overpriced + understocked cafes.

It was my 2nd time I was there and both times it was great. Long walks in parks and well preserved old buildings makes you feel like you are walking in history. Try to enter the complex earlier in the morning to avoid the crowd and the heat (if it's summer)

Very good location, 50 meters way from T 6 that passes in front of Aiga Sofia and Topkapi palace, this tram drives all the way to Eminou. Connected with T1 and arrives to ferry stations also to Galata bridge. On the other direction you reach Genikapi and if you transfer ones you will reach the next station Aksaray where Hava ist bus drives from and to airport. Hotel 12 minutes way from Gran Bazar, Room was clean , beds comfortable, shower room very good. There is a small fridge in room. Staff very friendly and willing to help
The hotel is really very nice, it has a swimming pool, sauna, Turkish bath among others, its breakfasts were spectacular, it has been a long time since I had breakfasts as good as those at this hotel. Turkish breakfasts are spectacular. The location of the hotel is spectacular, in the heart of the historic center, everything is very close to see, the mosques, the Topkapi Palace among others. The staff was very friendly, they booked us a small cruise with dinner included and taxi. All very well!!! I recommend the hotel 100%
Excellent location, next to Topkapi Palace, Santa Sofia and Blue Mosque. The breakfast was very good, served on the top floor terrace of the building with great views. Bed very comfortable. All the staff at the hotel extremely friendly and helpful.
Highly recommended! 5 min walk to the Blue mosque, Hagia Sophia and Topkapi palace. Small but clean rooms. AMAZING breakfast included with a beautiful view of the sea. However, the best thing about RW boutique hotel is the staff! All staff were kind, helpful and careful. By our fourth day they had nailed our breakfast preferences so we got everything we wanted without having to ask for it.
Staff was friendly and welcoming.Breakfast was good and view from terase is beautiful.the location of the hotel is Perfect.very near to hagia sophia and topkapi palace.we good free upgrade to 3 bedroom which was great since we had more space.thank you
A great hotel, everything was very good, tours about Istanbul were recommended to us, we were very satisfied, the staff is very polite, I definitely recommend it to everyone, the location is very good, very close to public transportation and cultural venues, Hagia Sophia, Grand Bazaar, Spice Bazaar, Sultanahmet Mosque, Topkapi Palace.
The hotel is conveniently located close to major attractions and markets. Topkapi Palace, Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, and the Grand Bazaar are all within walking distance. Additionally, the tram and metro stations are just a 5-minute walk away.
Loved the constant feedback and the friendliness of the staff.
The hotel is also very central - within 5 minutes walk of the Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, Topkapi palace and the Basilica Cisterne.
The hotel is superbly walkable from Sirkeci tram station, which connects the Grand Bazaar and Sultanahmet. Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, and the museum are merely 15 minutes away. The breakfast has many options, so I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Walk everywhere possible. Visit Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Basilica cisterns and Topkapi Palace but go as early as possible as they get very crowded. For a trip on the Bosporus get the public ferry from under the Galata bridge to the last stop and go up to the castle and then get last ferry back to Istanbul. The first ferry is at 10.35 and the ferry back is at 3ish. It is very reasonable but there is no commentary but we thought it was excellent but be early to get a good view and position on top deck. We found the best restaurant to be Amedros. We went two times and the food is excellent and good value and the staff friendly attentive.

If you go to Topkapi Palace it is worth paying for a guided tour in order to appreciate it
If you go to Topkapi Palace it is worth paying for a guided tour in order to appreciate it. Audio guides are available but in my experience these are often disappointing. The rooms are often empty and there is limited information to read. A guide brings the place to life.
