Do haggle !
Do haggle ! it is usually more expensive that the shops in the streets below. Please go to Havuzlu coffee shop / restaurant in the middle of the Grand Bazar for a great coffee / tea except to pay more but very good coffee!

The Grand Bazaar is mostly jewellers selling the same products. It's a shame as we were expecting a diversity of products. There's better shopping outside of the Grand Bazaar (and cheaper prices).

Its over rated and have got very expensive. it seems everyone at grand bazar, be it lamps, or souvenirs or even dry fruits, have jacked up the rates. its better to buy from other places like Istiklal street or lanes of Galata area.

Every thing is over priced and good luck if the sellers find out you are a tourist! Restaurants around the Bazaar are also mostly expensive and not a good value for money!
Good to visit but not to buy things from

Just a crazy place of shops - too big you will surely get loss.
The only thing that attracted me here is the Exchange. You can get better Exchange Rate in this place then that from Google on the same day.
On the day when i was exchanging, the Google rate was 1 Eur to 21.5
Here I got for 1 Eur to 22.2
But i found a better shop at 22.5
Just that i can't find that shop after some walking around.
So its easy to get loss here

too crowded, it is disappointing to see how many tourists are assaulting this place to bargain on fake items just for the sake of securing an improbable high fashion item. All the shops have the same stuff and ask for 3 times their real value only because of a fake brandname!

Excellent location. A five-minute walk from the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia, Grand Bazaar and some excellent restaurants. The staff are helpful and courteous. The rooms are immaculate and towels and bed linen are replaced daily. Best of all is the delicious and varied breakfast buffet. We would stay at this hotel again, and be happy to recommend it to family and friends.
Location wise - the hotel was excellent. Not far from the Grand Bazaar - it was a 10 min walk. 30 min walk to some of the other tourist site seeing spots.
Beds were Comfortable.
The reception was kind, treated us pleasantly, helped us with our bags, airport transfer was arranged for us, our apartment had a washing machine, heater, all the equipment and the hotel location was nice. It is within walking distance of Hagia Sophia Mosque, Grand Bazaar and tram stop. Thank you dear hotel staff 🙏
The hotel was super clean and stylish. Personal was friendly and helpful.Hotel is located in Sultanahmet which is 2 minutes away from Grand Bazaar tram station. Definitely i will come back.

Excellent hotel ! We had the best 4 nights stay at the Demiray Hotel
The location is amazing, you can walk to Grand Bazaar, Hagia Sofya and Galata Bridge within 6-8min on foot.
The staff was very nice, the SPA is incredible and the massages and hamam were top quality.
Rooms very modern and tidy.
The best part was the incredible view of Istanbul from the restaurant , each morning
If I go back to Istanbul , I will definitely stay at The Demiray Hotel
I liked the practicality and helpfulness of the hotel staff, which started immediately after booking. The breakfast was very varied and good. The location of the hotel is very good for the main attractions ( The Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace Museum, Gülhane Park, Grand Bazaar 10 min. walk...... )There are a lot of hotels in Istanbul, but this was our first choice and we don't regret it.
The best hotel I stayed in in the sultan ahmet area. I could reach Sultanahmet in one minute. I reached the Grand Bazaar in twelve minutes. Walking distance to the metro and buses. I think I was where I stayed because it was in the area with famous restaurants. Being in a building and on the street that preserved the historical texture made me feel privileged as I lived in old Istanbul.
The hotel met all our expectations. Affordable price and the room was the same as in the photos. Hygiene was at the highest level. Friendly and helpful staff.
Location of the hotel is perfect for someone who is visiting Istanbul for the first time. It is within the walking distance of Grand Bazaar, Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque...
Also, tram station is nearby and a supermarket is just across the street.. There are numerous restaurants and shops nearby.
If we come to Istanbul again, this hotel will definitely be our first choice.
Location is close to all popular attractions. Grand Bazaar is just round the corner. Street food is also close by. Only recommended if you are willing to walk steep roads up and down. It's actually what Istanbul is all around.
Hotel breakfast was warm and good. Cleanliness was very good. I would appreciate if bathrooms had shampoo and conditioner in them too. Definitely will stay there again.

What guests said about Grand Bazaar:
Grand Bazar is just for visiting not for shopping as costs are higher here
Grand Bazar is just for visiting not for shopping as costs are higher here. The funny thing is that everything is about negotiation in shops or on the streets. You will have a big surprise that the final price you are paying it is with 30% - 50% less. I.e. Turkish yoyo on the street is 5TL but if you offer 2.5 TL you're gone have it :) Good look.

It is an experience to spend time in Grand Bazaar even if you buy nothing
The atmosphere. You can find most of these things in other places but not in market places with such heady atmosphere as in Istanbul. It is an experience to spend time in Grand Bazaar even if you buy nothing. Shopping areas in India, my country, are equally interesting but they tend to be dirty and full of traps like potholes and overflowing drains. Istanbul has the atmosphere without these problems. The place we liked most was Arasta Bazaar near the Blue Mosque.
