Over hyped for sure. Grand Bazaar is an awesome place if you like touristy spots, and convenient if you want to buy all your Turkish souvenirs in one spot. Buy yourself a hand carry luggage and fill it up to the brim. The hand carry luggage should be around 100 Turkish Lira. All your souvenirs should be a total of around a couple of thousand Lira. Other than that there were a lot of fake/knockoff high fashion replicas. Be ready to haggle your way and shop till you drop.
Everywhere was a dream come true. Dont walk alone at night. Safe during the day. Ask for prices and never give them the first price theyll give you tea until they convince. But evrything at the bazaar is worth it. The pistachio candy!
Its nice but too much expensive . All things which are sold you can get it next to Egyptian Bazaar for less than half price . You can take a metro Karokoy and get down here and Egyption Bazar is right opposit and you will get all things with reasonable price
Before going to the grand Bazaar, check out the layout where the various entrance and exits are and that will help you a little to navigate through the 30400 square meters of the covered bazaars and together with it 68 sides streets. there are over 3000 shops, lots of bargain to be have.
Great little place, lots to see and smell. If your a girl or group of girls you may feel a little harassed as we did but it wasn't too bad - they are just trying to get your attention so that you buy something. Don't touch anything as you might really have to buy it!
I always loved this place, i feel it is the most place that represent the real turkey spirit, culture and environment, plus it is also a great place for shopping, walking, meeting new people, having chat with different cultures..
Breakfast was delisious, however you have to get up earlier than last 30 minutes of breakfast, since you will not get the whole available food, it would be over. Location is above all expectiations: in 5-minute walk you could reach Bosphorus, Grand Bazaar, Heart of Istanbul and great restaurants with authentic food, which is a must to try every day! We are very glad to be in Istanbul and in the hotel and in this location. We will definitely visit again
We really liked the location. There are good cheap restaurants just down the hill, and it's a very easy to walk to Little Hagia Sopha. It's also conveniet to the grand bazaar, Hagia Sophia, and the Blue Mosque. There is a good size grocery store about a 7 minute walk away, and smaller markets just a couple of minutes from the hotel. Our stay was quiet, and the internet access here was very fast.
It is a perfect place for staying in centre of Istanbul! Very nice hotel, close to everything, Hadia Sofya, Blue Mosque, Grand Bazaar and etc just 5 min walk distance. So many nice restaurants around and great shopping. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Absolutely great SPA. I had the best anti stress massage from Hulia. Rooms are very spacious and clean. Very comfortable bed and very good breakfast.
The hotel is very clean. The location is near the main touristic attractions. (800m from Grand Bazaar). The breakfast is amazing. But more than anything, the hosts are wonderful. Yusuf is the best host we have had in Turkey. He took customer service to a whole different level. All the staff is ready to help you with any of your queries at any time of the day (Even at 2 am).
The location is good, it's very close to Grand Bazaar and it's quiet. The room was very nice and had an amazing view. I would like to thank the staff, all the guys were very nice and helped in everything (transfer, pcr test, advices what to see, where to eat). Highly recommend to have breakfast in the hotel, it was just amazing!
The hotel staff were excellent. Very helpful and friendly and tried accommodating us in ways they could. The room was big and thats the main reason why we booked this hotel. The location is very good. Close to the grand bazaar, restaurants and tram
I loved the location. It is on the main street so transportation is very easy. We easily parked our rental car opposite the hotel. Overall we were very satisfied. Within walking distance of the Grand Bazaar, Hagia Sophia and other must-see places.
The hotel looks nice, fits the boutique-style. Liked the breakfast, however simple, the Turkish fried eggs were delicious. It is situated in the middle of Old Istanbul – 5 min walk to Hagia Sophia, Grand Bazaar.
Excellent hotel for any first timer in Istanbul. Well located in Fatih, near all the major touristic sites like Aya Sofia, Blue mosque or Grand Bazaar. The breakfast was good, especially sitting at the terrace.
Breakfast was great. Good location (during the day), very close to the Grand Bazaar. They helped us made a reservation for a covid test in the hotel.
Grand Bazar is just for visiting not for shopping as costs are higher here. The funny thing is that everything is about negotiation in shops or on the streets. You will have a big surprise that the final price you are paying it is with 30% - 50% less. I.e. Turkish yoyo on the street is 5TL but if you offer 2.5 TL you're gone have it :) Good look.
Visit The Grand Bazaar in the evening, before closing to avoid the crowd. For the rest of sightseeing afternoon around 3-5 pm is the least crowded time.
A large number of retail stores near by Sultanahmet, Cemberlitas and Grand bazar selling genuine leather shoes, they are offering latest models and a large number of brands at very good prices.
One can experience the contrast of the 1001 night feel of the grand bazaar to the slick city state of the art shopping malls , and to an antique flea market in the French quarter . A unique city
Grand bazaar is amazing but good luck getting round without being hassled
The atmosphere. You can find most of these things in other places but not in market places with such heady atmosphere as in Istanbul. It is an experience to spend time in Grand Bazaar even if you buy nothing. Shopping areas in India, my country, are equally interesting but they tend to be dirty and full of traps like potholes and overflowing drains. Istanbul has the atmosphere without these problems. The place we liked most was Arasta Bazaar near the Blue Mosque.
