The place has amazing vibes with the cafes surrounding the tower and the cobbled streets and all but the crowd is just crazy. Everyone wants a pic there for whatever reason and they are a painful hindrance to enjoying the place

It's good that they have installed a set of lifts to get to the top of the tower. So you are not walking up too many steps. Best to get there early or towards sunset to see spectacular views with the mosques and the sea across Istanbul.

Definitely a must. Go in the early evening as the night lights are awesome. Museum Pass is a must - this is one of the places you can visit with it. I bought a 5 day pass for 700 TL at Topkapi Palace.

I always thought that this is only a tower, you go up, see the landscape and that is all.
I was totally wrong because there is a very nice and interactive museum inside the tower. I highly recommend it.

Be stroung and fit to walk up hilly nerrow streets to get to Galata tower. Long queue, i suggest one stand in queue and other stand in ticket queue. 3/4 to one hour wait befote you get in. Life will take to the top. the view is breath taking. take pictures. stay as long as you want. take day than evening sun set and night photos.

Location was perfect. As it was close to the Karakoy pier and no hill to climb the hotel :)
Galata bridge was in 2 min by walk and hence easy to explore.
There is a funicular in 2 min walk to go to Galata tower too.
The hotel is in a quiet lane, a few minutes walk from Galata Tower. On the plus side, it doesn't get noisy at all. It doesn't have the 'vibe' but has the perfect location with the required quiet to reach the busier parts. It's a short walk from the tram station. The room was big, with a balcony. The staff was helpful and understanding.
Loved everything about Royal Galata Hotel. The perfect location with Galata tower and all the cafes on one side and the bus/taxi stop on the other. The ambiance is fresh and modern. The hospitality is great. Cosy, comfy rooms and good showers. Highly recommended
It's really valuable for the money . The apartment is so close to the Galata tower . And all the local transport is near . The manager is really helpful. There are lots of good food joints nearby .
The hotel is located within walking distance from the Galata Tower and it is only a short walk from the Galataport. I really like the neighbourhood even though it is quite busy during the day and in the evening. It was quiet at night, though. The room was lovely and the staff very helpful.
Location was great. Right on Istiklal street. Lots of restaurant, shops and Taksim square within walking distance. 24 hours police presence everywhere making it safe to walk at any time.
The hotel is next to the corner street where you can grab a taxis at all times.
We had great shopping.
Madame Tussaud, St Antoine de Padoue Church, Galata Tower are at very short walking distance.
The tram stop is 1 min walk from hotel.
Definitely a great location busy 24 hours a day.
The hotel exceeded my expectations. Such a cute building, wonderful boutique rooms, staff incredibly attentive and breakfast top-notch (Thank you Aysude!). I loved the location, Beyoğlu is incredibly charming and you are just a few steps away from shops, restaurants and the Galata tower. On top of that I received a little thank you bag that I would have never expected. I would 100% recommend and go back when in Istanbul again.

The location of the hotel is very good - 200 meters from Galata tower and not noisy at all. Turkish coffee and tea offered at the reception. The terrace for breakfast is fabulous - great overview of the tower and the old town Istanbul.
Double deluxe rooms were small, but well furnished and from the 3rd floor with a nice view. Rooms were clean and tidy.
Day receptionist is polite and helpful.

Absolutely yes! Istanbul is open restaurant. In every corner you can find perfect meal. Good to try fish restaurant in Bosphorous, or in Çiçek Pasajı. And also good to try restaurants in Maiden or Galata Tower with perfect city view. What it can be better than that!
