Probably the best location on the Tanote bay. Excellent entry to the water and beautiful corals. Quite good food in their restaurant (but not all the options). Lovely people working there. Very quiet at night. Good aircon. Great view from the room. The room was very spacious and excellent for 3 persons.
What an amazing spot, Tanote Bay is so special. I visited Tanote Bay 2 years ago and on my return to Koh Tao, was ecstatic to see that more accommodation had opened up at Tanote Bay. Montalay is an amazing resort with very friendly and helpful staff.
Tanote Bay is truly an amazing snorkeling spot. The beach is very nice with great shaded areas. Multiple dining options nearby. Staff was friendly. You won't regret the location for sure unless you're there for partying. Great diving center (Buddah View).
I like almost everything. I have already came to Koh Tao and wanted to stay further than Sairee beach. This hotel matched my needs and I totally recommend it. They provide a pathway to Tanote Bay Beace which is not my favorite beach (with sharks). The pools are incredible. The view from the hotel is everything. The staffs were very helpful and kind. We rent a bike with the hotel and it was fine.
The dorms curtains open up to the forest so you have a whole window to yourself to look out of. It’s seriously magic watching the sunrise like this and waking up to the trees and boulders. The cafe has really good food and smoothies and the bouldering gym is amazing for climbers that want to train. It’s right between an awesome dive spot/snorkel spot/beach called Tanote bay and the central “town” where everything is happening
I loved everthing about Tanote bay; bungalow was spacious with a seaview, the coral reef, abundant with fish right in front of the beach, and great food in our restaurant as well as neighbouring
We stayed in 3 hotels on Ko Tao and they were all excellent but if we came back, we'd choose Ecotao! The rooms are clean and well-equipped, the view from the shower, the balcony and the pool is just incredible and the staff was so nice!! The food is also delicious. Plus, the staff helped us with everything (organising the transfer and a massage in our room - for 350 baht/hour!! Amazing!) and Tanote Bay is only a 20 minute walk away (or 4 minutes by scooter or taxi).
We really liked the chilled and quiet jungle setting. The location is a short but steep walk up from Ao Tanote Bay which has great snorkeling and nice restaurants. They lent us snorkel equipment for free and free use of their motorbike to go to town to get cash.
Very nice hotel family-run. Good room size, 2 good pools with sea view over Tanote Bay. Staff was very nice. This part of Koh Tao is more quiet but just a short 10 min scooter ride to the more busy area.
Hotel provides laundry service for 70 bahts/kg which is good. They also have a free shuttle service running to the pier.
Try out the Sunmoon Thai restaurant right above the hotel, fantastic place.
