Very beautiful but very crowded.
Very beautiful but very crowded. Many other temples and palaces in the city are as beautiful and less crowded making for a nicer experience. The traditional dance experience included in entrance ticket the best, don't miss.

I think there is enough written about this incredible place...
I think there is enough written about this incredible place but I want to put some light on "Queen Sirikit Textile Museum" which is easily overlooked because it is not well known and it's is a bit hidden on the grounds of the Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew. The entrance ticket for the Grand Palace is also valid for the textile Museum but you are also able to visit the Museum on its own for 150 THB.
It is situated in a beautifully restored colonial-style 2 story building from 1870 which was the former Ministry of Finance.
The museum collects, displays and preserves textiles from South East-, South- and East-Asia with a special emphasis on textiles and garments from the Royal Court since ~1960. It's beautifully arranged with a lot of interactive information on numerous little touch-screens! It was Queen Sirikit's endeavor to rediscover almost lost Thai textile- and fabric-making and revived these processes all over the country.
The museum also hosts an education studio, a lecture hall and Thailands first dedicated textile conservation lab. In the Museum shop on the ground floor you can buy high quality textiles, accessories, table cloths, shawls, silk by meter and many more beautiful items.
The intricacy of different techniques of fabric weaving is incredible and explains why these pieces of art are so expensive and unique!

Looked forward to seeing the Grand palace but wouldn’t allow...
Looked forward to seeing the Grand palace but wouldn’t allow us to enter due to dress code ! Please note we had full length trousers and full length top with additional long scarf around arms and shoulders. We were shouted at to leave as scarves don’t class as cover up. (No skin was visible apart from our faces) we entered peacefully and left without questioning) this was just myself and my 22 year old daughter. Perhaps if the scarf was purchased from one of the vendors outside this may have changed their view about letting us enter. I researched the dress code well in advance and made sure we were entering with correct wear. Disappointed ☹️

Stunningly beautiful, very peaceful - highly recommend.
Stunningly beautiful, very peaceful - highly recommend. They also give shelter to a tribe of stray cats - I managed to cuddle as many as I could. HIGHLY recommend having a massage at the massage school - fantastic session had there.

Certainly a must-do in Thailand.
Certainly a must-do in Thailand. Incredible architecture and an insight into Buddhism from a Thai perspective. Loved our visit to the Grand Palace. Important that both males and females have long trousers or skirts with no shoulder showing - no shorts allowed at all. They won't let you in. There is an enterprising shop across the road making a killing selling long pants.

All visitors have to wear long trousers and cover shoulders - if you don't, you will have to purchase overpriced items.
December 2022 - all visitors had to wear masks, unsure why as they weren't required anywhere else in Thailand, not even on the metro.

1. Very good location.
It's two minutes away from Phra Sumen Fort and Park. The beautiful river and bridges can be seen from the park and riverside restaurants. Halal food nearby too.
15 minutes away from the Grand palace. The taxi fare was 40 baht.
2. Best value for money. I traveled with my three other friends and stayed in a room of 4 bed-private bathroom.
The bunk beds were comfortable.
Gus and his mother are incredibly hospitable. I stayed at this hotel on both my visits. If I go to Bangkok again, I will stay here. The location of the hotel is very good, you can reach the Grand Palace in a short time by just crossing the river. The cleanliness of the rooms, the comfort of the beds, breakfast, everythings are amazing.
A very pleasant place for both a short or a longer stay. Large, clean, comfortable rooms. The Grand Palace and a lively neighborhood are just across the bridge.
Very accommodating staff. Everyone: the staff and the building owners are just kind. They provided me my requests: flat iron, ironing board, even helped me with printing my documents for my next flight. I already recommended this hotel to my friends and family who are planning to visit, BKK, Thailand in the future. And the Grand Palace is just a walking distance if you don't mind the heat. But, taking a tuktuk ride is better.
We like very much this unique hotel located nicely in Bangkok. Very close to the Grand Palace and the temples were in walking distance as well. Hotel itself was very well decorated, with a coffee store and restaurant/jazz bar inside. Garden and the rooms were amazing. We stayed there during the Songkran festival and they provided us some complimentary water guns and waterproof phone cases which is amazingly thoughtful.
The location is great, walking disgrace from Kaosan street with shopping and bars.
The ferry is also minutes away from the hotel, and if you like walking, in 25 minutes you’re at the Grand palace.
We arrived early morning and could leave the luggage in their locker before being able to check in.
Breakfast was decent and the best part was that it was on the terrace, facing the canal. Bed was big and comfortable.
The pool is small but a great bonus after a long hot day.
