I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Bilderberg Grand Hotel Wientjes, and it was a perfect experience from start to finish.
The breakfast at the hotel was exceptional. There was a wide variety of options, from fresh fruits and pastries to a selection of hot dishes like eggs, bacon, and sausages. The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive. From the moment I checked in, I felt valued and well taken care of. The location of the hotel is ideal. It is conveniently situated close to the city center, making it easy to explore all that the area has to offer. Despite its central location, the hotel is in a quiet area, allowing for a peaceful night's sleep.

I had only the time to visit quickly the city center for a dinner. I was raining so we could not appreciate very much, but I am sure that the hystorical part of the city, for what I could have seen, is very interesting and charming. I'll try to visit it again in the future.

I use Zwolle as a stopping point and each year on my way to Assen, I explore a little bit more through the narrow streets within the island. There are some fabulous places to eat and chill, its a lovely place.
The unique experience of staying on a houseboat was great. I loved waking up to see swans and all sorts of waterfowl. Norbert was so kind and accommodating and drove us to and from the station, to the library to print tickets and to our son’s apartment. He even invited us to sing and dance around a fire with his friends for Christmas. It was unfortunate that Zwolle was experiencing record flooding while we were there but Norbert assured us we were safe and helped get our luggage over the floodwater.
The facilities were very modern and clean, and the bed was very comfortable. I got my own cubicle with a single bed and storage, plus a locker for my bag in the hallway. I was travelling in off-peak season so it was really quiet, and the location was great. Zwolle is a beautiful place and the staff gave me recommendations for eating and drinking, which I followed and had a great night. The hostel is about 15 minutes' walk from the train station, and it takes you through the beautiful town centre.
This small room built on the back side of the owners home is a lovely quiet retreat. The shower is nicely appointed and the private patio area is a pleasant place to relax. The room itself is quite small and we felt a bit cramped. The skylight helps but we needed to keep it open for some ventilation during the night which meant we were awakened with the sun in the morning. The price is an outstanding value compared to other accommodations in Zwolle.
The hotel has a charming style. The room was big, clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The bed was comfortable. When we stayed the weather was cold and snowy but the room was well heated. There is a whisky bar on the ground floor that also sells various bar and restaurant food, which we found handy. It is only a short walk from the train station and the city centre. We would be happy to stay here again.
Very old hotel, refurbished building. Tons of character. Expected to be visited by the resident ghosts during my stay. OK, basic breakfast. Located on the pedestrian plaza, with many restaurants, cafes and pubs to choose from. Access is by a computerized system with a code sent by e-mail. No hotel staff on site, but restaurant staff in building are helpful. Friday Market on the pedestrian mall is great.
The bunkbeds and the sheets were excellent! Like I was sleeping in a fancy hotel. Even the ability to charge your devices with every bed. Downtown the city and even with a nice bar and restaurant. And if you want to prepare your own meal, don't worry, there's also a fully equiped kitchen you can use. Great spot to explore the city.
Great room in a lovely old building with lots of character. Brilliant Tapas restaurant downstairs. Situated right on the main square with numerous other restaurants and bars nearby. Friendly welcome.
Street markets on several days, which were a pleasure to stroll around. Zwolle had much more to offer than we expected.

It seems that booking.com did not communicate to us the the booking was canceled and we realized this only when we arrived to check in, we were lucky there was free room for us, eve though it was not the original room we booked.

Superb location in the old centre of Zwolle. Reasonably well equipped, although for our particular needs - not wanting to go out un the evening to crowded restaurants - the cooking facilities could have been better. The host responded quickly to a problem with the TV.
Zwolle is a charming town and the hotel is just outside the old city. We had a great dinner at Vaca Negra. The staff stayed open longer to feed 4 hungry travelers. A+ for the whole experience in Zwolle.
Very close to the Zwolle Train Station, allowing for easy travel to more popular touristic destinations. Also the hotel was very clean, and the staff was extremely helpful regardless of the hour.
