First of all, the hospitality we experienced was next level! Everyone was just so helpful, friendly and caring. We organised our safari via the hotel and this was also perfect, extremely competent guide. They also provided bikes and we really enjoyed biking around the lakes.
The room was big and modern, had everything we needed (fridge, kettle, big bathroom).
I would also definitely recommend having dinner there, the food is better than most restaurants we've eaten at.
I would 100% recommend this hotel and happily stay there again, such a wonderful experience.

Our stay at the Elegant Lake House was exceptional from beginning to end. Randy, the host, is a truly wonderful person - welcoming, accommodating, and incredibly knowledgeable about the local area. Upon our arrival, he greeted us with a refreshing drink and eagerly took us on a tour of the nearby village before sunset. This experience was truly memorable; Randy's knowledge of the local nature and his passion made it all the more special. He took us to a local temple and shared his Buddhist beliefs and values, which was both touching and emotional.
During our tour, we saw an array of wildlife, including water buffaloes, crocodiles, bats, rare birds, and more. We really weren’t expecting this so soon! The next day, Randy organized a safari for us, ensuring we were well supplied with food, water, and snacks. The safari was incredible—we were fortunate enough to spot two leopard cubs sleeping in a tree!
Upon our return, Randy and his wife had prepared a delicious homemade meal. Their hospitality was second to none, making us feel like part of their family.
Our stay at the Elegant Lake House in Sri Lanka was truly special, and we wish Randy and his family all the best with their business.

We had an incredible experience with Yala Best Safari. The highlight was undoubtedly seeing all the diverse wildlife, including five majestic leopards. The safari guide was knowledgeable and ensured we had the best views and photo opportunities.
Our stay at the nearby hotel was equally impressive. The location was perfect, just a short drive from Yala National Park. The rooms were exceptional—modern, spacious, and comfortable, making it a great place to relax after a day of adventure.
This combination of an exceptional safari and a fantastic hotel stay made our trip truly memorable. Highly recommend both!

An amazing location! Overlooking the lake where you can see water buffalo, crocodiles, frogs and monitor lizards. Very unique experience staying in the treehouse cabana. Would recommend to anyone staying in Tissa before Yala Safari. The host organised our safari with driver, entrance fees and food and drinks for the day sorted. Couldn’t have asked for a better driver on the day, we were lucky to see multiple leopards along with 3 new baby leopards very rarely seen in the park. 10/10. The host made us dinner the night before our safari which was also lovely.

Perfect room with bathroom that was very clean, great mosquito net and very comfy bed
Very friendly staff, took us on a free wildlife spotting tour of the lake on day of arrival and the free breakfast was huge
The staff also arranged free pickup and drop off to bus station and also took me to the local restaurant for free
Booked safari through the property and it was a great safari with very friendly guide
