Yado Arashiyama, hotel in Kyoto

Located in Kyoto and with Arashiama Bamboo Grove reachable within 1.3 km, Yado Arashiyama provides a garden, non-smoking rooms, free WiFi throughout the property and a restaurant.

Breakfast was seasonal, healthy and very pretty. It was prepared like a mini kaiseki and they explained everything in english. I loved the local yuzu cider. There is also free tea and coffee in the lounge with a microwave. The room was functional and clean, very reasonably priced. Amazing power shower with shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. The hotel is beautiful, minimalist and modern. Away from the hustle and bustle. Staff were super friendly.

    It's a bridge.

It's a bridge. But, if you're lucky, you might snap a photo of a white heron (the nickname of Himeji Castle) there. You should also ride do a rickshaw tour. It's pricey, but it's a human pulling your fat arse around ... it's totally worth every cent!
