My room was huge (for Japanese standards) with a comfortable bed, balcony, kitchen, walk in shower, and washing machine/dryer. I even had detergent, which meant I could put a load of washing on straight away! A lovely welcome drink in the cafe (PS it’s not a “soft drink” as written on the voucher as coffee and teas are on offer).

The staffs are friendly. We carelessly wet the quilt, and hotel staff kindly help us change the new one for us instantly.
Then, the wooded bathroom is excellent! We enjoyed the warm and natural atmosphere when bathing. That’s so unbelievable! Finally, the location is closed to both bus and train stations, and only need 3min to walk.

The beds were comfortable and clean. The check-in (small tour, tea, explanation of the temple, 'introducing' selves for a safe stay, etc) was interesting and relaxing. The information about the history of the temple was very interesting. There were many different options for experiences unique to a temple (copying sutras, joining morning meditation, etc).

The hostel is about 10 min walk from Shirakawago Bus Station. There is a convinience store in front of the hostel. The female dorm has only 4 beds, and the bathroom is clean. Free towels provided.

It’s really a nice and worth place to stay. I really happy that i got my luck to stay in this hostel. The hostel owner and staff is a friendly and mindful person. They will provide the pickup service between the station and the hostel, even the shirakawago also.
I stay on the day of light-up even, I am luckily able to get the ticket also.

The guesthouse is very simple but very clean and has everything. It is one of the few available in Shirakawago and from town is reachable by 20 min walking. The hosts were very kind.
-the hotel is located in a forest, with ground still partially covered in snow in late march. The location feels like a resort. in fact, it has free activities like forest walk which we enjoyed thoroughly (boots and snow shoes provided).
But if you don't drive, you will need to use their free shuttle to and fro from Shirakawago bus terminal. about 10 mins drive.
-great outdoor onsen. We enjoyed the stars and moon while we soaked!
-french style meal and fine dining, which is a pleasant surprise for us. (altho the fish was overcooked)
The hotel is nice, clean, and warm, and the owner is pretty kind to offer the traveler help. They provide free coffee and tea, and also a kitchen you can use. The view outside the hotel and the building itself are both wonderful. Even though it takes a walk to go to shirakawago, the scenery along the road is another beautiful memory.
