The General Kyoto was a great experience for us as a couple touring Kyoto and its surroundings. The room had all the necessary amenities, and the hotel is easily reachable as there are both a subway entrance a 5 minute walk distance and also plenty of buses. We mainly used google maps for navigation and chose to walk to destinations such as the Pokémon store which is extremely close to the hotel and the Super Nintendo store. We used the subway and buses to reach destinations at the skirts of Kyoto such as SAGA (which was incredible don't miss out) and Nara.

This was by far the best room we had in all Japan. It was quite spacious and we finally could feel with more freedom inside the room. Furthermore, the extra additional “Japanese style” living room was very handy, as we could have and cook nice dinner or early breakfast right in the room.
The room was spotless and had all necessary amenities.

Very modern, clean and the staff is extremely friendly

Excellent location. Bus stop at 50 metres distance. Well connected to Kyoto station and some attractions by bus. Walkable distance from Nijo castle. Convenience stores and supermarkets are very close by. Hotel staff was very helpful. Hotel rooms were very clean. Amenities corner was well stocked. Washer and dryer in the room was very handy. Kitchenette in the room added to the convenience.
The hotel has a nice manga library (they have manga in English but a much smaller section than in Japanese). The bento breakfast was very nice. Location is great: not too far from JR station and quite close to Nijo castle. The bus stop is very close and you can easily go to the historical part of the city (gion, etc) by bus.
Good to see on which dates they will clean and what exactly they clean or if the bed sheets will also be changed.
The location of the hotel is very good, bear a train station as well as near bus stations, you can also walk to the Nijo castle or walk to the city center by foot approximately 40minutes.
The room is bright and has a nice Japanese touch with the wooden window. Makes you feel at home and relaxed.
The hotel is super well located, walking distance to Nijo Castle, among other touristic spots. There are various convenience stores and restaurants nearby. Hotel good size rooms, and price seemed reasonable considering location and amenities.

The restaurants were local rather than touristy. One outstanding restaurant was Non-chan Teppanyaki on the Shijo Omiya corner. 5floor. Well worth a visit
Loved our stay here. We'll come back here next time we are in Kyoto.
The hotel is new. Rooms are well equipped and nicely decorated. Small but spacious by Japanese hotel standards. The beds are high so our suitcases fitted nicely underneath.
The staff is very friendly and helpful.
The 24h free coffee and bakery items in the lobby were most welcome.
The location is excellent as well. 3 min walk to the station, which has two different metro lines. 7 Eleven around the corner. Cafes and restaurants nearby. Nijo castle a short walk away.
Very comfortable sleep as the bed was very nice . Very spacious apartment located in a quiet place. 5 mnt walk to the metro station and 2 mnts to the bus stop. Nijo castle is a 3 mnt walk. Nishika market is 20 mnts by walk. Clean and the staff were very friendly.
