The rooms were very comfortable, best onsen we had been to in all of Japan over our three weeks. Welcome drinks and ramen in the evening were such a nice touch.

We had a wonderful time at Ryokan Seifuso. The room and facilities were comfy and clean. The Japanese breakfast was delicious (both the vegetarian option as well as the regular). The kids enjoyed the western style breakfast.
The host were very friendly and accommodating.

The hostel is really close to the Castle and it has a perfect location, not far from the Matsumoto Station neither from the main spot/café.
It clean and tidy, no loud noises and the staff is really welcoming and helpful.
4-star upscale hotel not far from Matsumoto station. Easy walk to Matsumoto Castle as well as Nawate and Nakamachi shopping streets. Superb breakfast but with limited options for vegans / vegetarians; Japan is generally not a friendly place for them.

Free breakfast is convenient and even though choices are not expansive, they taste great and is enough to get you started for the day.

This is a very cosy small hostel located 20 min walk and 10 min bus ride from Matsumoto station. Matsumoto castle is a 5-10 min walk and there are many restaurants in the area. It is especially suitable for people who like to cook themselves. The kitchen is very clean and well-stocked with even a little toaster oven. The staff is super friendly and helped us call car rentals and restaurants when not speaking Japanese was an issue
Modern Hotel with traditional spirit. Placed near Matsumoto station, I choose Onyado Nono because I was searching a traditional style hotel with onsen and I've been completely satisfied.
The room was spacious and confortable, the roof onsen confortable and with a nice sight on the surroundings and the traditional breakfast varied and tasty. It is worth also to mention the free drink service active during the day. Recommended

The hostel was not only clean but also very fashionable and fancy, so it was very pleasant to stay there. The common kitchen was very convenient. There was common room you can use anytime, which sounds like natural but not always the case. So I did omfortable stay. The two female staff were very friendly! They spoke fluent English. It is about 10 minutes walk from Matsumoto station. There is a convenient store within 3-5 minutes walk.

Hotel is a little aged but well-maintained which gives it a nostalgia feel. Also walkable distance (10mins) from Matsumoto Station.
The breakfast is notably good (some of the best croissants I've had in Japanese hotels). They also serve the regional speciality, Oyaki. The bathrooms are spacious and the shower pretty powerful. The pillows are thick, and they give you extra in each room as standard. The location is excellent, really close to both Matsumoto station and the castle.
