The hotel was a pleasure to come back to in the evenings after a full days' worth of activities and driving around the surrounding great lakes. The river that runs by the hotel makes the vibe especially relaxing in the lobby and we were lucky enough on one of the night's during our stay to have seen a whole family of deer relaxing on the lawn. The room we got was river facing as well, and was large, clean and well air-conditioned though a bit dimly lit at night. We visited in late July 2024, so it wasn't too hot in the day time either. Location was very good if you have a car to get around in.

Set on the shores of Lake Akan, Akan Yuku no Sato Tsuruga offers beautiful hot-spring baths and a variety of shops and restaurants. The spacious Japanese rooms feature tatami (woven-straw) flooring.

The receptionist is very friendly. We were not able to find a restaurant for dinner. He helped us to find one and called the restaurant to confirm they are open. The hotel is clean and convenient. Free coffee was served.

Love it!
Love it! The village has many shops selling wood carvings but limited in variety. A few restaurants specialising in Ainu cuisine. The view of the lake changes with the light - enchanting. The boat cruise is worth the fare. Lake Akan is a great place to relax with onsen, volcanoes and caldera lake. Will return again to do the forest trail.
