The hotel and room were exceptional and furnished to a very high standard. It is close by the train station and has excellent transport links to popular tourist sights. Loved its location by the Kamo river. We saw fireflies and black kites when we were there. We loved the little personal touches like handwritten notes everyday telling us what the weather was going to be like and good wishes, also being invited to take part in Tanabata festival. Little treats of snacks and drinks left in our rooms to enjoy daily. The exceptional kindness and interest taken in our trips to the sightseeing events. We won't forget La, the English speaking young hotel receptionist who brought our breakfast every morning or Kameyuma the manager. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Wonderful greeting with local Mochi and a refreshing glass of champagne and green tea. We were able to check-in early at around 11:30. Thank you to the manager for her flexibility. This boutique is located by the River. Our suite had a clear view over local shrines and the river delta. Imperial Palace is 5min walking distance. Shimogamo Shrine, a 10 minute walk. Concierge booked a three day tour guide for us who took great care of us. We booked last minute and could not get good restaurant or guide reservations. Rio took care of everything. Lovely property, manager showed us other suites too, spacious and home feeling.

The couple that owns this property are such an incredibly lovely people! They picked me up from Kyoto station when I was arriving and gave tips on what's some good places to eat or visit nearby. They're so down to earth and it feels like they become your family while staying in their property. I wish I'll get a chance to go back!
