the Ryokan was very authentic and beautiful - also the staff was very kind. We LOVED the dinner in the evening and the breakfast in the morning. Truly a wonderful experience. Great accommodation with relaxing vibes, we had a beautiful forest view from the room where you can just sit and relax. There are 4 private onsens you can use, they are beautiful and you can use them together with your partner (men and women together unlike in public onsens). Staff is very friendly and they speak English.

Serene, authentic, and classy, this place has it all. It is criminally good value for the money. The keiseki dinner and breakfast were out of this world, probably the best meals I’ve ever had in my two trips to Japan (I’m fussy). A particular shout out to a staff member called Bhesh, a lovely Nepalese man who was extremely kind and helpful, I hope the hotel is rewarding him well for his excellent work.

We loved our 3 nights at Cocomock House. Staying in a traditional (yet bright and modern) style Japanese home was great. It's peaceful and relaxing, has a lovely sitting area with hammocks, and it's absolutely spotless. Just a short drive to the hot springs further up the road, and just a 30 min drive from Takayama. Our hosts were super friendly and very helpful. We highly recommend Cocomock!

One of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, everything was perfect and I can't think of one thing that we would have changed. The service from the staff was definitely the highlight, but the food, the room and the onsen were outstanding. It's a short busride to Kamikochi bridge where the hiking is beautiful.
