Only had an overnight stay, late checkin and early checkout - staff were nice.

The room was very large and a slight view of the beach. The decor was dated but the room was in great condition. The location was great being only minutes from most everything.
Great buffet breakfast with the best view of the sea.

The location was easy to get to by car. It doesn’t look like much on the outside, but looks can be deceiving. I was greeted by the owner and host, the welcoming, friendly, informative and super helpful Giuseppe. I was informed about place to see, things to do and where to eat. My room looking out to Sicily was superb. It was relatively quiet, although my stay was on the weekend and the neighbouring supermarket was closed. I had to pay some road tolls. Giuseppe went out of his way to help and sort it out for me, unlike the postal officer, who simply told me to fill out a form I didn’t understand. I highly recommend this hotel. I would stay again. It’s a great location to explore nearby sites and places such as Scilla, Sicily, and the southern coast’s beautiful beaches. Go to Reggio centre and have the Amareggio flavoured ice cream at Cesare. Walk along the impressive boardwalk of Lungomare. Enjoy the bespeckled colours of the Mediterranean. If you like history, then the National Archaeological Museum is a must. Reggio is not as touristy as other more frequented Italian cities, therefore it’s safer from pick pockets, you don’t get hassled and the locals are friendly. It helps to know some basic Italian.

If you are interested in the history of Magna Grecia, then this is the place to go! The collection is superbe, and clearly presented in the context of the original sites. There is ample background information, also in English. If you are planning to visit some of the excavations (Sibari, Crotone, Locris) then this exhibition makes for an excellent introduction. Needless to say, the Riace bronzes are the icing on the cake.

Gorgeous detail in the riaces but it is easy to miss these amazing bronzed warriors as they are in a little room off to the side of the second room when you walk in from the entrance. Only a few people at a time are permitted and must go through double glazed doors and have a blast of fresh oxygen(? I think that's what they are doing) before being allowed into the temperature controlled room where they are with some other bronzed artifacts. Only a handful of people at a time can be in the room to view these amazing statues but it not claustrophobic or stifling and there is plenty of opportunity to take photos around these guys. Truly amazing.
