FAQs about hotels in Dublin

Great History, Greenery & Pubs

Dublin is home to more than a quarter of the entire Republic of Ireland’s population and was originally founded as a Viking settlement. A lot has changed from those Viking days, and Dublin is now famous for its literary history and the most green spaces of any European capital, making Dublin a real Irish gem.

Dublin Castle is at the heart of the city's history and Trinity College houses the renowned Book of Kells, a beautifully illustrated manuscript from circa 800 AD. The Ha’penny Bridge is the city’s most photographed landmark and the statue of Molly Malone celebrates the heroine of Dublin’s unofficial anthem.

Dublin is home to many important literary figures including Oscar Wilde, William Yeats, Samuel Beckett and George Bernard Shaw. As the famous location of James Joyce’s “Ulysses”, the city offers tours tracing the protagonist’s footsteps.

As one of the youngest European cities, Dublin has vibrant nightlife with the popular Temple Bar area and plenty of bars and pubs, which invite you to stay out until the wee hours of the morning.

Dublin Airport is the gateway to your Irish vacation, so whether you’re looking for a stylish hotel, an independent apartment or a trendy hostel, Booking.com has a perfect deal for your Dublin trip.

What Guests Said About Dublin:

Dublin during the day seems to be a safe enough city.

Dublin during the day seems to be a safe enough city. At night, it becomes a different place. There are no visible police except when driving with their sirens on. Drug use and homeless people are sleeping and hanging out everywhere. The lighting along the river is dim. The tents pop up and according to our guide are people who are illegally living in the country. I would not go out at night alone. There are many wonderful parks and museums to see. The Botanical Gardens is beautiful. The Gravedigger's Pub next to the cemetery is great for lunch. Anthony Bourdain had their coddle, as did we. Try to stay in a place near all the restaurants and attractions because getting a taxi is tough during rush hours.

I went to Dublin to see a concert so I barely visited the city, but I did have a walk around the city centre, I went for drinks, lunch and dinner, and I feel like it's such a welcoming city, everyone was chatty - in a good way! I felt very at ease here.

Dublin is a great city for sights and culture.

Dublin is a great city for sights and culture. Plenty of eateries and pubs with entertainment. There are always events on (we were there to see Eric Clapton) which are remarkably well organised. We ate at Rockets on the shores of the Liffey and it was just the typical American Diner experience. Next time I would be more careful about location of accomodation.

Dublin is a great city, manageable for walking throughout for those who are able with many local sights and restaurants to explore. For those who want to take day trips out to the city's surrounding areas: Howth, Wicklow and Boyne Valley are easy day trips. We walked and used public transportation, getting around town was easy.

Dublin has a lot to offer.

Dublin has a lot to offer. Tours that are fantastic like Trinity College and the library a must, Kilmainham Gaol, the museum of modern art. Day guided trips to other parts of Ireland are easy to book. The Cliffs of Moher, the Causeway and Belfast. Love the Irish people, they are great story tellers, and lovers of art and music. They also have a great sense of humour and so much warmth. But mostly I love their humble nature.

The staff at Staycity were fantastic. Very friendly and professional. Alex was so helpful! The location is perfect for a stay in Dublin. It is within walking distance of everything you would want to see and visit. Our room was nice and provided all the amenities seen in the photographs. I was very impressed with the black out shade. Coming from America we are use to it getting dark earlier than it did while we were in Ireland. The shade kept the light out very well so we could get a good night's sleep.

Very easy to get to with Dublin Airport Shuttle, close walk to Connolly Station and very close to museums. Affordable eats nearby. Wifi and lots of room in onsite restaurant/cafe. Took trip to Ireland last minute and was able to get accomodations. I would say without a doubt that staff is friendliest most helpful staff I have ever met - 18th trip to Ireland and have travelled to many many places for business and holidays. Sleeping in pod was new for me, but if you ever slept on train - no difference.

Perfect location in the city centre of Dublin. The hotel is situated in a small bystreet which makes it very calm and quiet. The rooms are great, every facility you need is there. I had chosen for a small room, but it has everything you need during your stay. The breakfast is the best breakfast I ever had in a hotel in my life, it is amazing and of great quality. It is also a very sustainable hotel and does a lot of things to care for the environment. The interior is also very pretty and modern.

This hotel exceeded my expectations in all areas, but especially in hospitality. Every single employee at the hotel were exceedingly friendly helpful and professional. We ate at the bar upon our arrival and we also ate in the dining room and the presentation of the food was beautiful and the wait staff incredibly attentive. Staying at the Marker brought the overall Ireland experience for my husband and myself up several notches and I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Dublin!

Central location so easy access to Dublin City Centre. Lots of buses every few minutes and a wonderful walk to local amenities. Ballsbridge is a safe and busy area. The hotel is back from the main road due to the beautiful garden and landscape. I highly recommend this area and hotel. Staff friendly and helpful. You need cash in the shape of coins for the buses. The bus was reasonable and a great service. No complaints at all. We had a family room. Plenty of space.

Clean modern comfortable hotel, quite corporate focused as opposed to family orientated. We stayed here before going to the Aviva for an Ireland match and found it a convenient location 15 min walk from stadium and about the same to the city Centre. The Luas is close by on Mayor Street which is also a bonus. Good breakfast, with plenty variety, staff helpful and friendly.

This was a great stay in an expensive city. The location is convenient to the city centre and transport options. Breakfast was great, and I even got used to the loud music playing at breakfast time. You don’t get hotel staff or apartment facilities but once used to the way things run - it is a great spot. The staff at this Clayton hotel are brilliant and they will go out of thier way to make you feel at home. I really enjoy my visits home to Ireland and my stays at this particular hotel.

Went to Dublin exclusively to see the 2023 GAA All Ireland Hurling Championship Final @ Croke Park. Short walk to the match and trolley in other direction.
