The building has lots of character inside, with very high ceilings in the rooms. We had a deluxe double room that overlooked the square, which had hardly any noise at night from the cafe below. The hotel is on relatively quiet back streets near the city centre. It isn't particularly close to the city's main sites, but they are not too difficult to reach either. You can walk to them or use Budapest's excellent public transport system, and there are several bus/tram/tube options only 5-10 minutes walk from the hotel.
We only met a couple of people working on the reception, but they were very friendly and helpful.
