Not to be missed is the ground floor archaeological section - on one side the roman Seuso treasure, the other spanning from the Bronze Age to the Great Migrations period. The most interesting and large collection on Gepid, Avar and Hunnic finds. A must for the enthusiast.

I liked the museum's permanent collection a lot and wished I had more days and hours. We had very little time to do anything in Budapest, but just be there and that is more important than sight seeing for me. To imbibe the spirit of the city.
