With its delightful inner courtyard and friendly staff, this is a perfect base for exploration of Rhodes. Just a short walk to the old town, yet on a quiet street, its location is ideal. Portolithos Boutique Hotel is a very special place - a well-preserved ancient treasure, meticulously cared for by Katerina and her husband.
Their warm and welcoming hospitality is beyond comparison! They arranged taxi for us from and to the airport. They showed us the sites to visit, places to eat, and when to avoid the crowds. They made us feel like we’re guests to their home, and not just hotel guests. The breakfast was the best part! Beautifully served every morning. Beyond our expectations!

Lots to see and as we had a car we were able to explore the island as well .Excellent choice of restaurants fantastic food across the board . We were there for eight days a week would have been fine. Tip opt for a tourist boat rather than the cheaper ferry if visiting Symi- 3-4 hours is about right- 8 hours is twice as long as needed unless you want to shop till you drop. . The ferries are very clean, comfortable , efficient and reliable very good value for a trip to Kos . We needed to change froom pounds to Euro's preferring not to use the readily available ATM's There ia a casino that changes money on the Penisula close to the very good Aquarioum. P

Great monuments, charming narrow streets, lots of flowers, excellent cuisine. But it's best to enjoy it all in the morning, before the crowds flood the streets, or late in the evening. In the city, I was most impressed by the Palace of the Grand Masters and a walk along the former moat between the walls.

Rhodes is a well kept town but is very busy during the day.
Rhodes is a well kept town but is very busy during the day. The archeology and the museums are the main attraction. The bus service is superb and within walking distance of the old town. The weather in May was hot at around 28° and at times quite humid.
The downside has to be the cobbled streets which are difficult to walk on.

Everything was wonderful.
Everything was wonderful. However, the problem is using public transport because you don't know the exact departure and return times of the bus. Some workers are very kind, but there are also workers who do not know English and are sometimes rude. Perhaps the reason is big number of tourists who want to visit different parts of the island.

Rhodes town exceeded my expectations.
Rhodes town exceeded my expectations. I had no idea how beautiful the town would be, the people are very friendly and it is super easy to navigate! There is plenty of choice for food, cheap and expensive.
Be aware of the local scams of beer/cocktails. ALWAYS ask to see prices and how much the pints are. There are a couple of establishments who trick you into a 'medium' or 'large' beer and they bring out 2L pints costing ££££.
Eleni Rooms is an excellent choice if you want to enjoy the old city of Rhodes. The property is on a quiet side street near all the sights of the city, but without all the noise. The room was very comfortable with a private balcony, nice bathroom, and mini-fridge. Breakfasts are made to order and delicious and served on the shared terraces, which have a wonderful view over the city rooftops. The staff was friendly, helpful, and accommodating. There is ample free parking within a short walk of the property if you have a rental car.
'A little piece of authentic Greece in a perfect location. The location of this hotel is excellent. It is in the centre of The Old Town. Every amenity at your doorstep, Old Town Elli Beach a short walk away also New Town nearby. The hotel is very eclectic and run by a lovely Greek Family who go out of their way to make you feel at home and help you with anything. you need. or advice and recommendations on nearby good restaurants etc. We as a family felt totally at home and relaxed here and will definitely stay here again.
My partner and I stayed here for one night in our adventure holiday due to the wildfire evacuation from south of the island. We were really pleased with the level of service from reception staff, as when we were checking in the hotel was experiencing a blackout from loss of power due to the fires. This was only for a short period of time. We loved the room we had, it was clean and had all the amenities you would need. Very close to the centre of Rhodes town and short walk to old town for exploring.
Saint Michel it’s a charming boutique hotel in the middle of old town Rhodes. It is close walking distance to all the shops and restaurants. The owners Chris and Sergio are the absolute best! They are both very hospitable and charming. Chris picked us up and dropped us off at the ferry port. Chris is an excellent chef and prepared us fabulous meals. Sergio was kind enough to drive us to the post office in new town Rhodes. They both go out of their way to make sure their guests are taken care of.
The staff were really great and accommodating. The breakfast was also very good. Rooms and hotel were super clean and there's a convenient and affordable supermarket attached to the hotel. Beds were also very comfy and our room had a good view and balcony. In peak season it would fit its 4 star rating. Good location near old town.
Wifi has very good coverage but struggles with video conference calls (but still possible)
Location in Old Town, Constantine was awesome (great native Rhodes historian), Broomhilda not so much (you’ll figure out who she is by her charming personality)
Check out “Top Sabor” (1st corner cafe after coming through Old Town gate) and say hello to Teo & Maria (owners) from the Californians !!! Also ask to try a shot of Mellino’s Soma, you’ll love it, their food and their warm hospitality !!
Easy check in and we were "upgraded" on our room (not quite sure what to, as the room looked like the photo of the room we booked). Room very comfy, everything worked and well laid out with a nice balcony that got the sun in the afternoon/early evening. The hotel itself and the corridors/stairways are very clean. It was easy to walk there into Rhodes Town Centre and to the coast.
The hotel is lovely, very clean, friendly staff, great value for money & good options at the all inclusive including a variety of alcoholic drinks. The pool is very nice & never had issues getting sun beds. Room was spacious & comfortable & we had a lovely balcony. The hotel is in a great location - walking distance from old & new town. Location is awesome, a rooftop restaurateur with the best view of the old city. Minos and Patricia were gracious and accommodating. Food and drink availability is so convenient when you are tired from a day of walking. As the hotel was not full, we were upgraded at no additional fee, to a suite of two rooms. So peaceful, we slept with the windows open.
